New York's growth came from the waterfront, via trade, and this museum captures it perfectly. This is easily reached by subway to the same station *Fulton Street Station", although for the A/C it is the "Broadway/Nassau Street Station".

See original merchant sailing ships, tugboats, the businesses that are/were fed by the sailing business, including the Fulton Fish Market, which for over 200 years, or thereabouts, was based just north of where the Brooklyn Bridge stands. Although it moved over five years ago to The Bronx, the building itself still resonates with the aroma of fish!
