A terrific find. Wonderful rolling grass, few people and perfect views of Lower Manhattan. Kids loved it. No dogs allowed and upwards of 10,000 people gather to watch movies on Friday nights in the summer.

The park is 90 seconds from Grimaldi's Pizza - certainly the finest pie I have ever been willing to wait in line for. Go and see it and inhale the quiet!
While still only partially complete, this park-in-progress on the Brooklyn waterfront already offers some unusual features. It is, for example, one of the very few local waterfront parks that allows you to actually walk to and touch the water. The latest additions feature spectacular views of the Harbor and the Statue of Liberty, shady groves, a newly created salt marsh, and an imaginative green system of capturing rain water for later use in irrigating the park. There's also a creative playground, whose central features look like a sailing ship, a barge dedicated to chamber music, a legendary restaurant, and right down the street, French pastries and "Mr. Chocolate," Jacques Torres in his first shop.

Check it out! You'll have a great time.
