I want to tell u that Jordan is safe 99.9%.
Jordanians are very helpful, u can ask anybody, and he will help u. In recent years jordanian goverment has been giving so much care to tourists, and also thier safe.
If u need any help u can ask me, i can tell u more about Jordan.
Lisa,

Jordan is safe as much as you would never expect. The only tip I can give to you is that you gotta know someone who is NOT a company, someone to be a friend of yours. He/She will definitly show you the good places around.

Jordan is FULL of fun. And this summer it's going to be fantastic. A lot of raves, a lot fo shows.. The weather is amazing, it's really cheap and you'll feel like home once your feet step on the land. I've been in the states and I know how it goes, but trust me, if this is your first time, you'll always come back wanting more :)

Dead sea and Petra are just one of the few places where you can go. There is whole bunch more. Don't miss the night life as well.

Cheers,
JORDAN is a very safe place to travel in. But please be sure not to offend the sensitivity of the local culture and religion. People are friendly and hospitable. You might find them inviting you to their houses for a meal or just a cup of tea. The police are not intrusive and are cooperative to all foreigners.
Modern with a touch of the traditional and great Mediterranean cuisine, Jordan is great to visit any day. Welcome, or should I say Ahlan wa Sahlan?
hey lisa
regardless what u might hear about Jordan..it is as safe as any other country....it is not like any other middle eastern country ...safety...is high as u would like it to be...
anyway it is just preferred to know someone here...or just ask while u go....still people will help...just beware of cap fares...always go using the meter...and for trips to petra from amman just use the normal transportation and avoid the travel agencies...very expensive...
at last good luck and have fun....

Dear Miss Lisa

Ahlan Wa Sahlan (welcome)to Jordan. I assure you that Jordan is very safe as destination.
I hope you have planned to stay for at least a week to ten days so as you will have the chance to visit different places cities and sites. As well as meeting and mixing with the locals and feel their hospitality, friendliness and kindness always ready to offer you help and quidness.Jordanians will make their best to make you feel at home.

The places you should visit in Jordan are:
1- Amman the capital(The citadel,Roman theatre and the old down town souk (market). At night have fun in a Disco where you will meet young people of your age and have great fun.
2- Spend a day at the Dead Sea (The lowest point in the world) You can chose from luxury 5* hotels to a much cheaper well organised beach where you will have the experience of floating while reading a magazine and cover yourself with the dead sea therapeutic mud(I can hear you laughter..It is really great fun.
3- To visit Petra is a must.. One of the new 7 wonders of the world patremonial world heritage protected by UNESCO. You must stay at least 2 days so as to have the chance to visit with climbing up the mountains like the DEIR (Monastery) and the Highplace of sacrifice petra is a unique site that combines history and beauty of nature.
4- You must plan to visit the desert "Wadi Rum" with staying at least one night in one of the organised camps.
wadi Rum is a 720sqkm reserve where you can tour around from 2 ,4 to the whole day with local 4x4 bedouin jeep which you can book at the visitor's center. You need to take the 4 hr tour at least to see the beauty of this desert. Take your time and visit the museum at the visitor's center. It will give you a better understanding of the Geology, nature, wild life and history of the area which is very interesting.
5- From the desert to the sea. The Red Sea (Aqaba)
Very well organised Diving centers for diving and snorkling will give you the cahnce to explore the beauty of Red Sea marine life and enjoy the sunshine by the sea.

Eco tourism is gaining more and more fans. If you like hiking and trecking. The nature reserves in Jordan run by the Royal Society conservation of nature runs several nature reserves like Mujeb,Dana and Ajlun where you can feel the beauty of nature of the country.

For transportation; You can hire a cavan and drive on your own you must have an international driving licence and a good road map (Roads have signs in Arabic and English)you cannot loose your way. The public transport is good as well by bus or Taxi (Taxis are not expensive in Jordan)

If you are a group of more than 4 and up to 7 It is ideal to hire a van with driver.

I hereunder send you my contacts if you need any further information.

Dear Jason,
definitely Jordan is safe the people are lovely... they let you in their heart and home and they are so peaceful and love to see tourists in their area.

in addition if you want we can arrange for someone to be with you and take you for these places.
The first thing you will notice when you arrive to Jordan is that the people are very warm and welcoming to tourists. You will be pleasantly surprised by the sense of security you will find in Jordan- it is one of the safest places to travel in the world. Jordan maintains good relations with ALL of its neighbors and is truly an oasis of peace in this region. The country is fairly liberal, westernized, and alcohol is freely available;
