hola! you can find all type of deals, my advise its to make a budget and post it back here, will help a lot.
there are lots of romantic places to visit for your honeymoon... but I would say the hottest spots right now are the beaches of Mal País and Santa Teresa... one has very exclusive and private resorts and the other one is a more relaxed surf town... there´s a wide range of prices for each pocket... from 50 bucks a night to hundreds and hundreds of dollars... Giselle Bundchen just got married at Mal País...
I agree with Pablo Malpais is perfect for any occasion its simple little town with beautifull desolated beaches arround and with lots of different lodging choises, dont even think about a city it would be the worst honeymoon.
Hi, here is a link to explain you an ATV tours guided, really funny. It's the real way to see Costa Rica 2 hours from the airport and only 10 minutes from Jaco a nice city with good restaurants and night club.

Prices vary, Manuel Antonio, Quepos is the best area for honeymooners. Besides the beach, this area offers lots of other activities for you to enjoy. (rafting, sea kayak, diving, horseback riding, surfing lessons, atv tours etc...
here is palyas del coco, is a beautiful place for honeymooners.
one of the most popular places to stay is cafe de playa.
the prices are reasonable and the place is amazing.

The Nicoya Peninsula offers some of the most beautiful beaches, many interesting and Eco-focused activities and very nice accommodations for reasonable prices.

If you have money to splurge one night, Montazuma has the Ylang Ylang resort. It is secluded and very romantic. They pick you up in a Land Rover and take you down the beach to the tropical paradise and dome shaped bungalows that make up the resort. () While in Montezuma the waterfalls are very beautiful, zipline tours are exciting and plan on having at least one meal at Playa de Los Artistas. Amazing food and location! ()

A stop at Rainsong Animal Sanctuary in Cabuya (about 7 km from Montezuma) is also a must. Having an anteater stick his tongue up your nose, scratching a kinkajou's tummy and getting up close to many other amazing animals are only a few of the highlights! They ask for a donation, and believe me when it's time to go you will be happy to make it generous! ()

The Cabo Blanco Reserve offers excellent hiking and a beautiful, secluded beach. ()

Curu Reserve is a great day trip and has beautiful trails, lots of white faced monkeys and spider monkeys, plus they offer boat trips with snorkeling out to the Tortuga Islands. All this, plus admission to the park and a great "typical' style lunch runs about $40 per person. A great price for a great day of fun, plus the money you spend goes right back into maintaining the refuge. ()

Lastly, a trip over to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa for a few days will complete your trip and send you home in a tranquil state. Accommodations range from very luxurious like the Flor Blanca Resort () to very reasonable and still very beautiful like the Otro Lado Lodge (). Take surf lessons, horseback rides or just stretch out on the pristine beaches. Great restaurants are abundant yet the unspoiled nature of the people and town are increasingly rare in Costa Rica.

My recommendation is:
Since you are asking for both a good price and great beaches ... I won't recomend Guanacaste... a honeymoon in the Osa Peninsula is great.. .prices are not so high. mostly you will find all budget accommodation with a beach front, for a honeymoon Playa Preciosa in Puerto Jimenez is the best (accommodation prices from $20 per person...) 6 kilometers of lonley pristines beaches... the view of Golfo Dulce, many adventures available... and lots of wildlife... if you need more details reply to this.
If you want to be in a magical place, surrounded by Nature, with comfort and kind of private.. try this..
Any place in Costa Rica is good and fun for a honeymoon, but some good and pretty beaches are Mal País, Playa Grande, Conchal but also it could be very nice if you can go to the San Carlos or Monteverde they are places full of nature and very quit, you could spend a lot of good time alone with your wife... The prices depend on where do you want to stay, its cheaper the little rooms, here we call it "cabinas", but well the hotels are cheap at this time of the year so it up to you.
good luck!!!
