The main landmark is a natural one and that is the 250m. Cave Hill. It is often refered to as Napoleon's Nose or McArts Fort. See 'You Tube', Eugene Dunphy: Beneath Napoleon's Nose for great images. The second main landmark is the 100 year old Belfast City Hall, right in the centre of Belfast. Made from Portland stone, 95m. wide and 53m. high, with copper dome. One of Ireland's most impressice edifices. Other landmarks include the Albert Memorial Clock in the High Street. It has a 35m. tower with a 1 1/2m. tilt from the vertical, gaining it the nickname of Belfast's leaning tower.
London has a number of sites which are listed by UNESCO as World Heritage sites e g Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Maritime Greenwich, the Palace of Westminster. Other key buildings/sites include St PaulsĀ“s Cathedral, the British Museum, industrial heritage of the East End and the old docks, and the magnificent Hampton Court Palace.
