Island hopping in Honolulu?

I'm planning to take my wife there for a vacation next year. Which are the best places to visit and stay in? We are also interested in island hopping. We have 3 weeks' time there. Which are the most important places to see, things to do there?

City: Honolulu

State: Hawaii

Country: United States

I can't help you with that, but I can help you chartering private jets.
The best place to visit is the island of Kauai. I would suggest the Lawai beach resort or go online and look at ebay for timeshares in princeville. Kauai is the nicest of all the islands and I would suggest spending a week here. The island of Hawaii has many cultural sites and the volcano is a must. Beware of the VOG (volcanic mist like fog) if you have respiratory problems. This island is big and lots of driving is required. Maui is nice and big too, make sure you have a GPS. Oahu is where the capitol is and it gets really busy. Waikiki is the top attraction but i would get away to the north shore and the Polynesian Cultural Center is a must.
take a cruise ship vacation by NCL
I agree with Abe - the NCL cruises are the best way to see a little of each island quickly.

Some of the most popular places on Kauai are Waimea Canyon (the grand canyon of the pacific), the Poipu area, Hanalei, Napali Coast, and a kayak or boat ride up the river to the fern grotto.

Visiting the island of Hawaii (The Big Island) is a good idea to see the active volcano.
My order is Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki, and some of the shores), Maui (Wailea, Kaanapali, Lahaina, Haleakala), Hawaii (Big Island), Kauai, and Lanai.
If you want to Island hopp be sure to check out the all of the main islands. They are all special in there own way. I really love Hana on the island of Maui
Book your flights with Mokulele airlines. They are great and generally cheaper than the rest.
