my wife and I are looking for luxury accomdations. the four seasons doesn't appear to offer much more than luxury xmd golf. we want...

...culture and sight seeing too. what are drawbacks to October?

Country: Costa Rica

I can most defintely help you with what your looking for drop me a line at My name is Carlos and I will gladly help you.
Concerning the month of October as you mention it is the end or almost the end of the rainny season
Would be glad to help you however I can with a luxury rental.. However, October is generally our heaviest month for rainfall & it can get pretty wet & not nearly so much providing the idyllic conditions otherwise so normal in CR. The water might not be as clear & outside activities might be at a minimum.
Hi. I own a very lovely boutique hotel, but it is not the luxury standard to the Four Seasons (). If you were looking for accommodations other than October, I would love to help you. However, we close in October due to very little tourism and it tends to rain most of the month. We can help you find a great variety of things to do, if you visit any other month. Modesta
Paradisus playa conchal.
You could stay at the Intercontinental or Marriott in San José. Lot's of culture and historical buildings, monuments and museums. PLus you could also visit Cartago(ruins, churches), Orosi and Ujarrás as a day tour from there.

October is usually the 'rainiest' month of the year with the exception of the Caribbean coast. There are no real 4-5 star luxury properties on the Caribbean of Costa Rica, but I would recommend you stay at the Hotel Banano Azul near Puerto Viejo,Limón and at Evergreen Lodge in Tortuguero, probably the 2 best properties you can find out there

Pura Vida!
Hi, there is a new 5 star hotel in Guanacaste, Hotel RIU. This is a brand new hotel located on a private reserve at Matapalo Beach.
Costa Rica lies wholly within the tropics yet boasts at least one dozen climatic zones and is markedly diverse in microclimates, which make generalizations and rainfall misleading.
In October, Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast averages more rain than any other time all year. The Central Highlands are also rainy, though the Caribbean experiences less rain than usual.
Generally, rains occur in the early afternoons in the highlands, midafternoons in the pacific lowlands, and late afternoons and night in the Atlantic lowlands.
You might like Playa Langosta. You have night life a mile away in Tamarindo. Easy tours of the estuary, surf lessons, canopy tours, ATVs, horseback riding, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, pottery tour and other activities. Perhaps Casa Quetzalcoatl or Casa Aracari would be good choices if you want true luxury. has lots of info on the area and vacation rentals...
There is also the JW Marriott Resort and Spa at Hacienda Pinilla, Guanacaste. Detailed information below. Hope this helps and meets your expectations.
