Ecuador have many monuments and landamarks.

if you come to Guayaquil, i recomend you to visit the "malecon" (a river view gallery about 3 miles length). in the malecon you will find "el morisco", a clock tower built in 19th century and the monument known as "la Rotonda", was constructed to celebrated the reunion between simón Bolivar and Jose de San Martín, Liberators of South América.

Anothe place that you must visit in the city is the municipal museum. here you could see the zsantsas (human heads reduced in size by some canibal tribes that is live in the ecuadorian jungle).

If you like the colonial art, here you could find the nahim isaias museum with a very complete and extended collection of art from the colonial age.

You must climb the Santa Ana Hill by the stairway diego noboa. in the top you could watch a panoramic view of the city.

This are a few places to see in Guayaquil.

In quito, you must visit the historical center of the town. there you could find some breath taking churches (like La compañía, santo domingo, san francisco), the antropological museum, el panecillo (a hill about 3500 meters of high), la mitad del mundo (it's the place where meridian zero pass).

In Quito you have El Panecillo is a monument of the Virgin Maria who is in the peak of the hill and is considered like the greater aluminum representation of the World.
That's Quito in Guayaquil you have the monument of Chamber of the Roundhouse that is is the most representative of the city and evokes the meeting of the liberators Bolivar and San Martin in this city in July 25 of 1822. The Principal Land Mark in Guayaquil are the Guayas River and the Santa Ana Hill.
Ecuador is participating in the new 7 wonders of the Nature, with the Galapagos Islands, the Cotopaxi Volcano and the Amazonas river.

If you want to know more about monuments, you should specify which city? Quito is the capital there you find a treasure in culture and history, business city is guayaquil ;) ....
There are many in Ecuador, depending on what sort of landmarksmonuments you would like to know about.
A historical landmark in the country is located in the south, which was the most important construction to the ancient inca culture. It's called INGAPIRCA, at Canar province, you can get there easily if you are in Cuenca, though it may take a few hours drive, probably 2 or 3. It's a spectacular place, and after a 40 min walk, guided by an local expert of course, you can see a enormous inca's face-shaped rock.
Other historical places are both Quito and Cuenca' city centres, which are World Heritage.
Also in Guayaquil, a city in the coast, there are many landmarks you could visit in one day or two by walking, because they're all in the city centre. There are churches, cathedrals, many parks -if you ask someone who's come before, they'll most probably have heard about the famous Iguana Park which is full of iguanas walking around the park along humands, and you can even feed them!!
There is also the ROTONDA monument, which is full of history about the city; as an extra tip, try talking to the person standing at the other side of it by whispering on a corner of the hemicicle!! You just have to try it!
If you have any further questions, you know what to do!
I'd be very pleased to tell you more about this beautiful place of ours
It depends of wich cities are you planning to visit, in Quito you will find La Mitad del mundo(middle of the world), el Panecillo, Cochasqui pyramids,Rumicucho, if you decide to visit Guayaquil one of the most beautiful is Malecon, Santa Ana hill. You can visit the amazing Galapagos islands. You have many options and I can assure you will enjoy all of them.
well it dependens whast u r up to...but the main ones r mitad del mundo next to quito, galapagos islands, cotopaxi volcano, and the cuyabeno national park. they r the main must see in Ecuador but the problem in Ecuador is that u have a lot of things to see and experiment...i hope this helps ^^
tricky question my friend. Ecuador has tons of landmarks and monuments to visit, it all depends on what you like and what city are you visiting. I recommend that you watch this video, it will show you a bit of the incredible landmarks and monuments.

Let me know!

Rafa
I think that what really makes Ecuador a unique place in the world is its Nature, with some faboulous ecosystems (Pacific Ocean, Cloudforest, Rainforest, Andes and Galapagos Islands) easy to reach. From that rises its bio-diversity in terms of flora and fauna observable. And many cultures, mainly indigenous, are from each different natural environment! And so I would say that the real, great, unique monument in Ecuador is Nature!

Have a look here

Once here you can even visit Malecon, Ingapirca and the Colonial Center of Quito, of course
Well, this really does depend in your interests...you see Ecuador has 4 different regions in its small territory: the coast,Andes, Amazon and Galapagos. All of the regions have many and different attractions. Ecuador is known for its biodiversity, so its a great place for all types of travelers. If you are in Quito, the capital of Ecuador; Mitad del Mundo is a must, there are also some archeological ruins nearby. In the old part of Quito you will also find lots of interesting monuments, churches and museums like "Cima de la Libertad", "El Panecillo", etc . In the south part of the Andes region, there are the Ingapirca ruins, which is an interesting place to learn about our history and how the Incas came to Ecuador. In the south part of the coast you can also find in situ archeological museums from pre-inca societies like the museum of Real Alto, Salango and Aguablanca.

Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions, it will be my pleasure to help you.

Saludos desde Ecuador!

Hi!! Your question is interesting.

I want to tell you some monuments and great places in Ecuador:

Quito:
The first city declared by UNESCO as Heritage of the World (1978).
- "Plaza de La Independencia" This is great because you can watch 3 powers of the country in the same square: The Carondelet Palace (president palace), The Cathedral (religius power)and El "Municipio" the Mayor home.

- San Francisco church.
- El Panecillo.
- La Mitad del Mundo (monument to remind that we are in the middle of the World).

Guayaquil:

- El Malecón,
- "Las Peñas" neighbourhood,
- Seminario Park (Parque Seminario),
- Centenial Park (Parque Centenario),
- La Rotonda.

All of them are geniale!

Cuenca:

- Abdón Calderón Park.
- The Cathedral "Nuestra Señora de la Gracia".

El Puyo (the jungle):

This little city is really great. Its weather is perfect and there are rivers, cascades, the fauna and flora you will have de opportunity to know will charm you (monkeys, snakes, fish). Everything is really gorgeous.

THE FAMOUS GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

The fourth region. The unique in the world with a fauna and flora which were studied by Charles Darwin during the voyage of the Beagle that contributed to the inception of Darwin's theory of evolution.

Around these cities, there are little towns in which you will know many monuments and interesting places to visit like indigen communities where you can visit animal markets.

You have many places and new opportunities to discover, but there are 2 important situations you have to take in mind when you travel: be prepared for new adventures and get good company. You will know great people who will tell you their culture.

If you have enough time to enjoy a new adventure in your life, I welcome to my beautiful Ecuador.
Ecuador is a country full of amazing landscapes for exciting ours eyes.. Describe everyone of them is a theme for thusands of pages, bute, here I will leave some interesting facts:

Quito has a number of phenomenal old cathedrals that date from the era of the conquistadores. You can climb to the top of San Francisco and see the entire city below you (after several flights of rickety stairs and several ladders). A phenomenal experience but not for the acrophobic.
Any works of man's are secondary to the phenomenal Andes mountains. Waterfalls, soaring green peaks, smoking volcanos - the scenery defines description.
It's importan to give mention to El Angel Ecological Reserve, near to the beauty city of Tulcan. In El Angel you we can view mountains full of frailejones and some of pretty lakes.. This moor is simply impressive!!
More fertile and lush than the Himalayas and almost as tall, the Andes are the second tallest mountain range in the world.
The town of Banos is close to breathtaking scenery, has the eponymous hot spring baths, and also has a crazy-fun nightlife. It's a six hour bus ride from Quito and well worth it. Rent mountain bikes or mopeds to see "El Diablo" and other natural wonders - or go horseback riding. Banos is awesome.
Both Quito and Banos are essentially safe, friendly, fun cities.

Guyanquil is a little rough, not as scenic, and wildly hot and muggy - skip it, unless you have a need to go there. If you do, get your shots and wear plenty of mosquito repellant.

The Galapagos Archipelago are amazing - words can't do them justice. . Don't skimp on a boat, though - the cruises are quite cheap, as far as cruises go, and the bigger boats will have more knowledgable guides, edible food, and comfy cabins. Darwin Station, Lion's Back, and of course the animals and other flora and fauna are incredible.
Worth the money (and it's pretty cheap there as far as lodging and food. The flight down will likely be the most expensive part).
Have fun! Ecuador is an amazing country!

In Tulcan, you have to visit the Cemmetery, a beauty park of 8 hectareas with esculptures in green; esculptures made in cypress; really an amazing art!!!!

Guayaquil is a a renewed city.. with important momnuments as La Rotonda en Malecon 2000... Don't forget to visit Historical Park.

Manta is the unique complete city with urban beaches. Normally in Ecuador, beaches have hotels, bars and restaurants, but Manta is the only one city with beaches within.

The Galapagos Archipelago are amazing - words can't do them justice. . Welcome!!!!
I can talk about my city Quito. Here you can enjoy and admire a beautiful and unique dowtown or old city with more than 130 monuments that date from more than three centuries. These monuments are provided of a great diversity of pictorical art as well as sculptural mainly of religious nature. I can mention at least 7 churches built in time of the colony.
Sorry to answer your question just now. I was in an interesting trip in Payatanga, a small town at 2 hrs from Guayaquil where you can do some eco turism.
About the landmarks in Ecuador there are plenty. Here we have much marvelous landscape you have no idea, for instance we have the very famous Baños, is a very fun town with activities like treking, biking, bungy jumping, rafting, and much more. Baños is the path between the cost line and the rainforest zone of Ecuador.
Over the cost you will love "La Ruta del Sol" which is a higway all acros the cost line where you will find mini towns with woundrful beaches, starting in Salinas. This is the bigest town of all, but still a town. Here is where must people spend their summer time so here you will find lot of night activitie. Here in rutal del sol you can pick a beach to stay the day and enjoy nature, its sun, its temperature and relax. If you are searching for more exitment you will always count on Montañita, it is fun all the way, small but fun for sure.
Headed north we have Puerto Lopez which is a little fishing town, but here is where you can easely see the whales in winter time (it is not so cold realy), around July to September and also visit the Isla de la Plata where you will find all kinds of animals like buby birds, seals, and much more and do some scuba or snorkeling. If water is what you like you can do some scuba in Salango too, (another island) and at Frailes beach (national park), it is a experience you will cherish.
At high lands we can be proud of our mauntains. For instance there is the Chimborazo for which many people prepare very much before climbing. There is the “Nariz del Diablo” which is a litle mountain that has a bump with the form of a nose and everybody calls it “the devil’s nose”. Regarding the devil we also have “La paila del Diablo” (the devils pot) which is a very impresive waterfall into a hole in the ground, once you fall inside nobody knows where it ends or where it goes.
Here in Ecuador you can have a time you will never forget with all the comodities you can imagine and safe fun you would desire to enjoy in a trip.
If you wish, I can help you with the arangements here in excelent hotels at grate prices and with all the comodities, just contact me and I will asist you with everything.
I hope you decide to visit Ecuador, I’m sure you will want to stay with us!!
Quito is full of monuments, thas why Quito was declared first World heritage in 1978, and Quito has been declared as the "best preserved historic city of Americca" . you can see monuments like El Panecillo, Compañia Church, Basilica, la Catedral, Middle of the World Monument.
In Guayaquil visit the Malecón.
In Quito visit El Panecillo and la Mitad del Mundo.
Downtown Cuenca. Av. Solano in Cuenca.
Actually Cuenca and Quito are World´s Cultural Heritage.
And the Galapagos Islands and Sangay National Park are Natural Heritages.
