Ponta Delgada in Portugal?

my cousin lives there and I will visit her soon. I would like some info on the place - what it's like, weather, people, etc. Also, how much would I spend in airfare if I am from boston or manchester? Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Country: Portugal

São Miguel is the largest island of the archipelago and is one of the principal lines of communication with the exterior. The weather in Azores is very unpredictable so you can get four seasons in one day. The airport is about 2 kilometres from the centre of Ponta Delgada, provides daily service to Europe via Lisbon as well as regular interisland flights. The flight between Ponta Delgada and Lisbon lasts about 2 hours. Weekly flights to the United States and Canada are available through the various charter companies operating on the island. From whichever location you arrive, you will find São Miguel full of a natural beauty that will satisfy the most demanding traveller.

You can go to Palm Terrace Café at Rua Marquês da Praia e Monforte, 40.

If you have time check Faial.

for the weather part i would suggest 1 site:
1st in portuguese:
in english
for airplane fare:

i made the calculations and roundtrip will be about 1000$
as for people i can't say a lot about it.
Ponta Delgada is a portuguese city in São Miguel island. It has more than 5 centuries of existence. The people are very welcoming and friendly.
