where to go in cairo? Luxor, Aswan, Sharm ? i

Country: Egypt

Luxor would be the best choice especially in winter season, if you would like to visit Egypt in summer, then I recommend "Marsa Matrouh", its north near Libya and has the best weather in summer time... Sharm is also beautiful to visit in winter season if u like sea side

In Luxor in two days you have the West Bank - Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the fabulous Deir al Medina (Village of the Workers), that's all the tomb sites and Queen Hatshepsut's Temple etc. Temple of Ramses III (amazing) see teh tomb of Nefertari. You have Karnak and Luxor temple complexes. There are two museums, one a mummification museum. Then you can take a felucca to Gezira el Mozh and you should visit the fair Trade Centre. There's so much to do in these places it's hard to know where to begin :-) You could spend a week in Cairo and still only touch the main tourist sites - Old Cairo, the Citadel, Coptic Cairo, any of the more than 100 museums, but the Egyptian Museum is a must, the big art galleries at places like the Opera House complex, the Citadel, the many old mosques and all the pyramid sites - Giza, Saqqara, Dahshur, Abu Sir etc., go shopping in the Khan il Khalili or Downtown or at the fabulous City Stars Mall. Take a felucca ride or a Nile dinner cruise, or visit the nightclubs in the 5-star hotels or the great Cairo Jazz Club. See the tannoura dancers at Wekalet el Ghoury. Go up Cairo Tower. Visit the Pharaonic Village, stroll in Al Azhar Park - there's such a lot to do!

Luxor I've made a comment further down... Aswan - visit Abu Simbel, Philae, take a felucca around Kitchener Island, visit the Botanical Gardens, the Granite Quarries, the Museum, the High Dam, walk the Corniche. Plenty to keep you occupied.

Sharm has all the water sports on offer - diving, snorkelling, parasailing, paragliding, windsurfing, take a glass-bottomed boat to see teh coral reefs or paddle a kayak. Take a desert excursion for a few hours or a whole day to the Coloured Canyon etc. Have dinner at a Bedoiun camp. Take a quad bike or camel ride.... Again, there's lots to do...

Enjoy your time in Egypt
