Answers

Sri Lanka is rich in cultural diversity and a recorded civilized history of over 2500 years. You have to visit the cultural triangle to at least take a glimpse into this colourful past of feudal monarchies and above all how Buddhism played a central role in education.

Apart from this Sri Lanka being an island has many lovely beaches each so different from the east, north, south and west to offer even the local visitor. Whale and dolphin watching, surfing, and other sports are possible from around the Island at different times of the year and all this activity is mainly controlled by the two annual monsoons, the North east and the south west.

Our climatic conditions aren't harsh either though the western areas can be extremely humid at certain times of the year. To compensate for this there's the salubrious hill country where the world's best tea is produced. In fact the first tea tree that was planted by James Taylor is still to be seen with the remnants of his cottage (a stone fireplace) on an estate in the Nuwara Eliya district. There are beautiful waterfalls and lush greenery and plenty of scenic vistas.

If you are a wild life enthusiast then you must make time to visit the wild life sanctuaries. On the road to Tricomalee, a place you must see, (known for its beautiful coves and natural harbour) you will meet with wild elephants and if you are lucky some other wild animals too. Elephants are also seen on the road to the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa close to the Mineriya Tank.

So it all depends on what your interest is and how much time you could spend. No doubt you will leave with a wish to return many times to this beautiful Shangrila!

Let me know how I can help you further.
that depends one your character, wild life , historical sites , beaches are just some of them

It depends on the interests you have and the days you spend hare. Basically January is a good time to vist, clear sky, not much of rain. If you love the beaches and the activities, in the west coast the see is very calm and even Diving and Fishing? Could go to the highest hill country within few hours. Historical locations etc.etc.Lot of fun.

Cud organize a good trip
Specially the northern province places.....Jaffna,puthukuduirippu etc. where the war was held last 33 years in sri lanka. And Kandy,Anuradhapura,Polonnaruwa where the places which our past kings lives...ALSO the place Nuwaraeliya which is in mountains, you can spend your holidays peacefully....
Sri Lanka is a travel paradise. Only travellers realise this. within few hours you can change your moods, climate and culture. Start from Negombo, Chilaw, Anuradhapura, Vavuniya and Jaffna. Way back Trinco, kurunegala, Kandy and from their Nuwaraeliya, Badulla, Hambantota and on your way back Matara and Galle. You cover up the entire Island within 7 days if you follow this itenary.
The beauty of Sri Lanka is the same itenary can be spread over 30 days if you can stay for long. So much to see and admire on your way.
