Question

Can a local tell me if Halloween is celebrated in Thailand? I keep finding different answers on websites.

Location

Country: Thailand

Answers

It's celebrated within the American/Anglosaxon community and in KHAOSAN Road in Bkk, but gains more and more popularity in the Bangkok community, however widely celebrated: No!
On the other hand, if you are in Thailand on 2nd Nov this year, revel with the Thai people and celebrate LOY KRATONG, and you may forget Halloween altogether. It's celebrated allover the country. The centre of this beautiful and charming festival is in SUKOTHAI, however most beautifully - in my opinion - it is celebrated in the north, e.g in ChiangMai and Maehongson.
Yes, we do. There are lots of different kinds of the parties in the pub or disco. You wont get bored

So far thanks, that except in private US communities, HALLOWEEN is not celebrated. Please be assured, there are
many more (not-so-called) "Halloweens-Celebrations" in the
Kingdom throughout the year ..... whenever you find/attend one, just have fun ;-)
Yes it is celebrated by foreingners and some thais as well. The kids seem to have the best time of the fun though. But a short answer , yes.
It is not, except in the small expat comunity. We don't celebrate the 4th of July either.
I would not expect the 4th of July to be celebrated.
Halloween is celebrated in Thailand but not much by the locals. Its mostly tourist areas and expat communities who celebrate it but you will find Halloween party almost everywhere in Thailand :-)
Halloween is another way of getting money off Farangs. Most bars have girls in saucy outfits, the customary balloons everywhere. All very tedious really but it keeps the Hello Kitty/ Doraemon loving Thais happy. But then thats not saying alot.
