Generally the weather a quite good, apart from the central part of vietnam(Hoian , Hue) will get a bit hot temperature can reach to 36degree celcius, but there are nice beaches around those places, for me it's the good time to travel to vietnam don't need to pack for rainy holiday, something for sunny holiday will highly recomend
July is normally the hottest month in Vietnam. It is in the middle of the Summer. It will be very hot in the center of Vietnam. Sometimes the temperature can reach to 40 degree celcuis. It is also the raining season but it does not rain everyday. Sometimes it rains very heavy in one or two hours then stop. This time is the begining of the typhoon season. When there is a typhoon comes it will cause rain for a few days but Vietnam is a long country and it has different weather between the south and the north. So you can always find some places to see even there is a typhoon.
In July, it will be quite hot, especially in central Vietnam. Its officially the "rainy" season, but the rains are usually short and sharp, and quite heavy.
Vietnam has some rather good cheap and effective poncho style raincoats that are so inexpensive that you can throw them away after you use them.
Yes, you can expect to get caught in some showers, and possibly some flash flooding, but its all part of the adventure.
Whether this will cause you any discomfort depends on how you intend to travel. On buses it will be minor annoyance, on a motor bike, you will always have one eye on the clouds.
Locals live through it and come out smiling- so will you. All that having been said, it is possible you wont see any rain also. Vietnam is a long skinny country, and the weather in the north is very different to the weather in the south, and I have often gone from north to south or vice versa on motorbike during the "rainy" season, and not gotten wet once.
Vietnam is hot & rainy in July. Yes, you should pack for a rainy holiday. However, good point is that the rain is often short, especially in the south, you can expect the sun afterward.

Another good point is that this is low season for most upscale hotels & resorts. Remember to ask for low season discount or shop around for your best deal

Have a great holiday to our country

The weather is quite good, only the central part of vietnam(Hoian , Hue) will get a bit hot temperature can reach to more then 35 degree celcius, but here are nice beaches around many places,to cool down.
Please dont bring to many warm clothes, and remember it`s cheep to buy here. The rainy days are over the sunny days just start, happy holliday.
Yes, you definitely have to pack for a rainy holiday!
July is exactly the middle of the rainy season and therefore has the most and powerful rain intervals of all months!
Which also means that July is the month with the less hours of sunshine during the day!
If you are looking for a nice beach holiday, you should think about your schedule again!
Its the rainy season then. However, one can buy cheap, low quality raingear on every street corner in the whole country, so I would not bring any with you. Enjoy
Hi my friend,
Welcome to Vietnam and Cambodia. The weather in vietnam and cambodia is almost similar. In July, it will be RAINY in the south(Ho CHi Minh surroundings),center of Vietnam is HEAT(Da Nang surroundings)and Hanoi.
If you only travel in the south of vietnam and cambodia, it needs to have a good preparation in advance.
Especially, on bike tour is so fun with mud...!
Good luck,
Looking for helping you,

THE WEATHER IN VIETNAM IS HOT AND VERY MUCH RAIN. CAMBODIA IS THE SAME. MUD MUD MUD MUD MUD HEAVY RAINS WEAR RAIN GEAR HUMIDITY IS AT 90 TO 100 PERCENT AND SO IS THE TEMP 80 TO 100. SEPT OCT NOV DEC IS TH BEST TIME TO VISIT THESE COUNTRY'S
Be Prepared for lots of rain, hot and humid weather. Bring casual cloths, short, flipflop, sleveless t-shirts. Rain Coat and umbrella can be bought here with cheap price so you won't need to pack tnem with you. Also, if you decide to travel by bus and taxi (it's cheap in Vietnam), you won't get into any trouble with the rain. However, some places get flooded so your flipflop will come in handy. The rain is often very heavy but won't last long so that's not really a problem for travelers.
in July the weather is on Summer so surely with you that the weather is truly very hot but it's also have some different between each regions in Viet Nam and it also depends alot about your decision where you will go ^^
Don't mind email or send messages to me, i will help you with my best. Gud luck to you with your tour and you'r always welcome in my country ;)
hi`. dont have to repair anythng, rain coat here is very cheap. :) in case of raining, just stop at somewhere has a roof :)
Any time is the 'perfect' or 'wrong' time to visit Vietnam. It depends upon what you enjoy.

In July the weather down here in the south is definitely "tropical monsoon" - heavy late-afternoon downpours and intermittent lighter soaking rains that can last for 1-2 days. The beauty for those from temperate climates is that it is still warm ... just warm & wet!

Most people think immediately of raincoats and weather-proof clothing. In fact, you may have to pay more attention to footwear!!!

Trousers or slacks WILL be immersed in mud & water. Long-ish shorts or skirts for the ladies are much better suggestions ... you can hike them up to wade through the leftovers of the latest deluge!

Raincoats in Vietnam are misnamed. They are not actually raincoats, but ponchos. They were introduced by the US military in the late 50's and have been here ever since. They don't keep much dry at all.

If you do get wet, like thousands of others you will see on the streets & in the fields, just take comfort that you will be your own 'air-conditioner' for about 1-2 hours before you just get hot again!
Well it's depends on where you want to go in Viet Nam.

Generally, I would say it's not a really good time to go. This is because July is the month heavy rain in the South. While in the North and Central (Ha Noi, Hoi And and Hue) is extremely HOT, you can barely go outside at 10:00 AM ( it's very HOT and dry, so sort of like the desert)

If you can choose, I would say travel to the South is better, as although it's raining but the weather is much more comfortable, cooler and guess what it's the season of Fruits, as around this time, many kind of fruits will be on the seasons and you can enjoy it a lot
i think it isnt important to you. if you have time on july and really want to travel. Nothing cant stop you. the weather is hot in central part Viet Nam (both to in combodia). but the South and the North is good enough for you to choose a good trip. The South is normal temperature..You can explore melkong delta with homestays, if you like cool air in mountain, discover cultural some ehtnics, stay in boat to seeing the star, floating Ha Long bay...etc..do me a favor to help you.welcome to touch my world.
If you are coming to Hue, it would be mostly sunny. I guess it's true for most of areas in Vietnam that period
July is in general a hot month in Vietnam. While some people have said it is the rainy season, this depends where you are. In Hue in July, it is usually hot and dry. If it does rain, it is over quickly. The nights are hot too. If you want to cool off, you can do as the previous answer suggests, and visit the beach. It is also an excellent time of year to visit Bach Ma Mountain and National Park, which is not far from Hue City, and you can stay at the hotel on the mountain. A good time, too, to see Ha Long Bay. Also, Sapa, which in winter can be very cold, is lovely in July.
The weather at the imperial city of hue is great in July, sunny at daytime and cool at night. Excellent for countryside biking or Back Ma mountain hiking tour!
In July, it's a rainy season and the temperature is approximately 35 degree celcius. you should pack with rain coat and soft clothes so that you will feel more comfortable in hot temperature
