Answers

Don't know about Pattaya and don't know about your interests. But visit to Kings palace and golden Bouddha (in Chinatown), some good crab with pepper and garlic plus an evening in Sukhumvit looks like a greta day to me.

If you are more into culture, go to look at antiques in Oriental place (Sharoen Khrung Soi 40).
this is ur first time here in thailand ? if yes, i would like to reccommend u for visiting the Royal Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and boat trip (long-tail boat). if u come on weekend and u love shopping and seeing some nice local shop, u should go to JJ market and Koh Kred (in Nonthaburi). u can take boat to nonthaburi. not expensive and u can see local live and how to make baked clay also Thai dessert (Thong-Yib, Thong-Yod, Foy-Thong, etc) and also u can taste some food there. it's nice and i think it's worth for u.

for pattaya, u can visit "mini Siam", floating market 4 parts, seeing Alcaza show / Tiffanie show, take time at the beach or take ferry to Koh Lahn and doing some water sport such as sea walking, parashoot, etc.

hope u enjoy the trip in thailand :) and if u would like to get some help, u can contact me.
Thank you so much. How can I contact you. I want to looking for some books in English about Golf Course Management as well

In Pattaya you should go and se The Century of Truth. A very nice building of art in the old Thai style.
Heja ...
admit that 1 day for Bangkok and 1 day for Pattaya - including
the nights till dawn - its like flying over China and pretend
you have been there !!!! Not knowing your interests / preferences, you can fancy a couple of suggestions from
fellow Localytes. Enjoy your stay.
Depending on your interrests, shop till you drop?
Party and eat.
Have a great time though.
Yeah,
2 days isn't anything remotely like enough time, and as others have said, without knowing your interests it's difficult to offer advice. The choices are so diverse! Why not just spend 2 days in Bangkok? Still not enough time, but travelling to Pattaya as well???? You will waste soooo much time travelling & checking in and out of hotels, I don't think it's worth it.
These are 2 of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. You can do almost anything you want except take drugs.
Pattaya is set up for toursists - while BKK is a working city.
Popular things you can do in Pattaya are take an elephant ride, see the beaches or get a parachute ride. Later in the day see Mini Siam and take in a show like Alankan, or check out Walking street market if the market next to mini-siam isn't open. Of course there are a lot of night clubs, massage places and other pamper yourself businesses there also.

Bangkok is not much to see, just palace, temple, shopping. In pattaya you can relax anad go Coral Island and play water sports.
If I were you I would just stay 2 days in Bangkok. For books go to Emporium shopping mall at Sukhumvit soi 24. Here you'll find 2 book shops. (on he 3rd and 4th floor) I'm sure you'll succeed there. If you want a taste of Bangkok during day-time join the Colors of Bangkok excursion. have a look at
Enjoy your stay.

one day in bangkok is never enough, there're plenty of things to see...but if you're really into a day trip in bangkok...the old town area (rattanakosin island) is still a choice...depends on you what kind of trip you wanna make
have fun
