Roaming Africa Tours and Safaris owns operate & maintain a fleet of over ten well maintained 4WD Toyota Land cruisers which have been specially modified to endure the rigors of unpaved roads, all the while ensuring ample leg room, easy wildlife viewing (large windows) and an all round comfortable experience. Each vehicle has either a pop-up or flip-flop roof top to ensure unimpeded game viewing; a cool box, a pair of binoculars (although we do recommend clients bring their own), as well as a set of referral books (mammals, birds, plants) which clients are welcome to peruse.

For added convenience and security whilst on safari, all of our vehicles are equipped with HF Radios.

The Olumara is spectacularly set along the Masai Mara Koiyaki Lemek conservation camp, which is a vast unexplored area. This is a photographer's haven and great for both day and night game drives. Local game include elephant, Butchells zebra, Masai giraffe, lesser kudu, Grant's gazelle, lions, cheetahs, rhinos, elands, the rare honey badgers as well as our occasional spotted resident leopard etc. The Masai Mara is famous for its bird life, including riverine and forest species. Game drives are conducted by our long experienced guides, taking you to the famous Mara river migration crossing spots. A day of successful game spotting, will be followed by our Olumara sundowner cocktails of your choice served by our guides, in appreciation of the splendid Mara sunset.With only eleven spacious, self contained luxury tents, we pride ourselves for our exclusive service on, one on one basis, with our guests. Introduced as the first in the Masai Mara, our 'open kitchen' is remarkable. Watch our experienced chefs preparing delicious meals, which will be served at the table by our caring staff.

Balloon Safaris in Masai Mara, Kenya offered by Roaming Africa Tours & Safaris

Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you gracefully and silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning.

Typically, a baloon safari begins at break of dawn, about 6 am, and lasts for around 1 hour, during which you will fly over parts of the vast Masai Mara plain, seeing the magnificent wildlife below, spread over several square kilometres of the reserve..

Balloon flights are available daily in Maasai Mara and take off from designated sites where the disturbance to animals is kept to a minimum. Your safari vehicle drops you off at the take off site and picks you up from your landing site.
The flight is followed by a champagne breakfast "in the bush", with a well laid out seating arrangement and waiters on hand, to give you a fitting finale to your memorable flight in the wild.

Day 00-Arrival and transfer to Kenya Comfort Hotel B/b- Advise flight details

DAY 1:Nairobi-Nanyuki
Transfer from Nairobi is at 09:00 hrs to Nanyuki .A COMPLIMENTARY walking tour to the EQUATOR. dinner and overnight at Simbas lodge.

Day 2: Sirimon gate to Judmaier camp

After Breakfast drive to Sirimon Park gate and trek for 3 - 4 hours to Old Moses Camp (Judmeier) through a beautiful forest with East African Pencil Cedar trees, Poducarpus trees and the giant Hygenia trees. From Judmeier camp you can see the summits of Batian andNelion peaks: 9kms

Day 3 :Old Moses (Judmaier) camp to Shiptons camp
This is about a 6 - 8 hour hike crossing Liki and Mackinders valleys, there is a great view of Tereri and Sendeo peaks. And also a great view of Nanyuki town and beautiful terrain. Shipton's camp has also an excellent setting with the north faces of Nelion peak and Batian peak. 13kms

Day 4: Shipton's camp to Point Lenana and then descend to Mintos Camp (Halls Tarns camp).
Sunrise Mt Kenya The most rewarding scnery This hike is about 4 and half hours hike through some of the most spectacular sceneries like Gorges valley the Halls Tarns and the Lake Elies at a far distance. Overnight at Mintos Campisite.

Day 5: Mintos (Halls tarns camp) to Meru Mt.Kenya Lodge (Bandas)
This hike is anywhere between 4 - 6 hours. This area has spectacular views down into the Gorges valley with Lake Michaelson and Vivienne falls, and across on the other side you can see Ithanguni peak, Rotundu peaks and the Giant Flat -- top Kilingo hill table. 18kms

Day 6: Chogoria gate to Chogoria town
About 6 - 8 hours, on dirt roads through a thick bamboo forest and tropical forest. The
forest is really beautiful with chances of seeing wildlife and Columbus monkeys. Transfer to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.32kms or walk half way to take 4x4.
