ONE-DAY TOUR to “KAMYANETS – PODILSKY – KHOTIN” (Kamyanets - Podilsky – Khotin)




Kamyanets-Podilsky Castle is located outside a town; it is situated near the unique entrance to the town. Primary stone buildings of the castle were constructed in the XII - XIII centuries. In the XIV - XVI centuries more than once it was extended and reconstructed; finally its similarity was folded in the middle of the XVI century. Tiles with vegetable decorative patterns or plot reliefs give the imagination about beauty of the castle apartments. Among them there are images of equestrian warriors which attract attention. Doors, windows of dwelling houses or furniture and chests were decorated by them. For the fancy of the refined tortures we recommend to visit local basement with the chamber of tortures. In one of the halls you will find the exhibition of folk of that period of time, when someone lived in a fortress. You'll see the standards of weapon, costume and you'll know history of the fortress. After this exhibition you'll walk up to the highest tower of the fortress.

One of the most considerable monuments of architecture and military-fortress art of the past in Chernovtsy region is Khotin fortress. Its walls in a high to 30-40 meters and in a thick to 5-6 meters, earthen billows with bastions and deep ditches excite curiosity for all, who visits this fortress above the Dniester. The events of military history of the fortress underline its power. Khotin war became important landmark in the history of a town and the fortress. In 1621 40 thousand army under the direction of Petro Sagaydachny rescued Poland from a defeat, having warned the threat of Turks attack to the earth of Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

At the beginning of the XVIII century Turks, following the requirements of that time military technique, erect new fortification buildings by the French engineers. Materials of excavations and documents, which belong to the history of the town and the fortress are exhibited in Khotin history and economy museum which exists since 1963.

Shooting of popular films were in the fortress: «Zakhar Berkut», «Ballad about valorous knight Ivanhoe», «Three musketeers», «Arrow of Robin Hood», «Taras Bulba». In 2007 Khotin fortress entered to the list of the «7 Wonders of Ukraine».

Visa support letter

Citizens of most countries are required to get a visa to visit Ukraine. Ukrainian visa is issued by a Consular Division of the Embassy of Ukraine located in the country of your residence or if there is no Ukrainian Embassy in the country of your residence than in the neighbour country.
In order to apply for a tourist visa, you need to have a set of documents including a Visa Support Letter written in Ukrainian and provided by a tour operator in Ukraine. That is licensed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In particular countries a tourist voucher for hotel reservation and information about programme of tourists stay on the territory of Ukraine are also requested.

We provide visa support letter ONLY when you make a hotel or tour reservation with our company. For our cooperation in future pls. look through information that we need from for beginning.

The original of visa support letter can be sent to a required address at the expense of customer.
