| About me: | Hello and Welcome to the most magnificent city in all of Europe. I am Tatiana (Tanya) and I will guide you on your visit to the crown jewel and my home, Saint Petersburg. Not only will you be my personal guest in the most European city in the world, you will experience the awe of the stunning beauty, culture and history of the city that I love. The Saint Petersburg experience is perhaps he best kept secret treasure in the world and I will delight in sharing every element of it with you. My city of islands, canals and rivers is a work of spectacular architecture that was the home of the Tsars with their opulent palaces and the playground of the world’s elite. To this day, it is the epicenter of the world of ballet and other performing arts. Though my entire city including the numerous palaces and cathedrals is a work of art, we are home to the Hermitage, accepted as the museum of art unequaled on earth. You will see and feel it all! If you have an affinity for history, Saint Petersburg is the textbook. You will walk in the footprints of Lenin and visit all corners of the birthplace of the revolution that changed society and the world. It all happened here, remains intact for you to feel and I will personally share it all with you. If you have an interest in the history of modern conflict, no city or population suffered as did my people during the 900-day siege of Leningrad during the Second World War which we know as the Great Patriotic War. Not only will you visit all the places where that dismal page in human history happened, on the street you will meet the people who lived through it. Though Saint Petersburg has an unparalleled history, it is not a relic of the past. It is a vibrant delight of today. Whether it is sightseeing, interacting with my people, experiencing art or enjoying nightlife, our culture and society will thrill guests of any age just as it thrills me every day. And we want to share it with you. I am among the very most experienced guides in Russia as this has been my profession since foreign guests first began arriving at the end of the Soviet era. In addition to Saint Petersburg, I accompany guests throughout my country. Your visit with me will not resemble a limited tour-bus program or a map of highlights.
