About me: some people that know me, though not all :), might say I am: responsible, laughing at strange times, approacheable, aloof, a bit spaced out, easy going, knowledgeable, attentive, optimistic, gourmand, not materialistic, gregarious, earnest, full of ideas, late, offbeat, dreaming, too stressed, colorful, patient, indiscriminate, taking my time, saying stuff that makes no sense, being pig headed, shy, a contrarian ...

some obvious and not so obvious things: I have several accents, I don't watch much TV, I can be a know-it-all, I lived in several countries, I can talk too much and too little, I don't know one single song :(, I don't watch sports, I don't have many pictures, I have migranes, I dance to almost anything, I'm more or less one my very best friends, I'm curious and I'll try most things once, I laugh at people's misfortunes while feeling compelled to help them, I have a social conscience and I think it's economically viable, I like double-quotes (goes with rabbit-ear gestures) around words and I try to kick this habit, my favourite letter is "G", and, I think idleness is practical!

Activities: I like liking things! (yeah lots of people love dismissing! I don't get them, but it's fun liking them too) And also: dancing, intense dis/cussing, reading, writing, markets and bazaars, live performances (music, theatre, dance), real friends, travel, good meals and drinks, ideas and words, walking in the streets, meditation, color orange, street posters, hikes, trying fun clothes, big weather, lists, being alone with my moods, essays, foreign languages and films ...
Books: way too many to count... I love reading lots of kinds of books. It's like talking to someone intimately, which I love. Science, culture, literature and essays are all indispensable to each other, and to learn all the enjoyable things in life.
Movies: can enjoy any, but remember mostly west's classics and independents. Linklater, Kusturitza, Bertolucci, Rohmer, van Sant... anything with pirates, mountebanks, bandits, mystics, mutes and fortune tellers... say Godard's Breathless, Passolini's Teorema, Casablanca or African Queen, or anything with Johnny Depp... Oh and I easily hate movies too :)
Music: lots! brazil, africa, modern western classical, brassens, paolo conte, gitans and flamencos, funk, motown, salsa, tango, anything danceable; I'll listen to anything thrice... my big regret is not knowing any song! I sang communist hymns everyday for years and not one comes back... though I clap really well.
TV: not much... I never remember TV stuff... except the odd Simpsons or Seinfeld or french talk shows or Maried with Children or the CSI with Grisham... hmmm maybe I do watch some TV as I said I don't remember it ... most news shows get me angry though.

It has the highest quality of living in South America, though it may not have the size and attractions of some of its southern sisters.
