This trip can be describe as a longer beginner paddle for those looking for a fun filled day + adventure. A combination of eco-adventure activities and environment appreciation.

I can help you to discover a different side of the Osa Peninsula that few ever see; pristine tropical waters of Golfo Dulce are waiting for you, the stunning sea-life, reefs and colorful panorama are here just waiting to be discovered.
Your kayak excursion takes you along lonely coastlines where you often encounter the 4 different kinds of sea turtle that visit as, playful dolphins, hundreds of fish and sea birds and the majestic humpback whale (ask for season) all in their natural environment and behaivor.

This is an exciting paddle for the select few who are natural adventures. We have three options for this trip.

We meet at ATGD operation base and get fitted with snorkeling equipment for their multi-sport adventure.

Launching from Las Gaviotas beach in Puerto Jimenez, this paddle starts early in the morning for a 10kms paddle to Sandalo. After a great paddle along the coastline, towards Sandalo Beach we’ll anchor and snorkel the reef for about 2 hours.

You'll have great views of the inner part of Golfo Dulce. Here, you will find some of the most spectacular sea life from tiny reef fish to large manta rays. One of the great benefit of kayaking-snorkeling is we can anchor where the power boats aren’t!

Along the day we’ll stop and snorkel & swim in a couple of great spots and have a shoreline tropical style lunch, including fresh seasonal fruit, vegetables, bread, juice… and let’s see what else is on menu today!

After lunch the trip will end according to the option you have choose.

Option 1: Paddle from Playa Las Gaviotas to Sandalo reef, after lunch paddle back to Las Gaviotas. In total the paddle will be 20Kms. And the length is around 7-8 hours. (Is also possible to arrange transportation from Sandalo to Puerto Jimenez by taxi, this will make the trip 2-3 hours shorter)

Option 2: Paddle from Playa Las Gaviotas to Sandalo reef, after lunch BICYCLE RIDE, back to Puerto Jimenez (final point Las Gaviotas). In total the paddle will be 10kms. And the bicycle ride will be 14Kms. The time length is around 7-8 hours.

Option 3: Take a ride from Puerto Jimenez to Canaza, the first immersion (depending on tide) will be in Canaza beach, then the paddle to Puerto Jimenez will start, along the day we’ll stop and snorkel & swim in a couple of great spots and have a shoreline tropical style lunch near, Sandalo then paddle back to Puerto Jimenez. (This option can also be combined with bicycle for really athletic people) this trip takes around 8 hours in total.

Recreational fishing is a popular activity that involves many emotions, is one of the most popular sports in lakes, rivers, gulfs and the out shores.

According to wikipedia.org “One method of growing popularity is kayak fishing. Kayak fisherman fish from sea kayaks in an attempt to level the playing field with fish and to further challenge their abilities. Kayaks are extremely stealthy and can allow fishermen to reach areas unfishable from land or by conventional boat.”
Recreational fishing describes fishing for pleasure

We have mix both kayaking and fishing to offer the recreational fishing for your enjoyment.

Most types of fishing tackle are made in a professional manufacturing facility while others are hand made by hobbyists who find greater satisfaction in catching fish with tackle made by themselves. We make our own tackles with recycled materials.

While out on the gulf, we are practicing minimum impact camping, to ensure the pristine state of the wilderness remains for future generations.

We will be keeping the weight and volume of a gear to a minimum. We will be staying in expedition quality tents, which provide more than enough room for two people (some single tents are available on each trip). In the Golfo Dulce exist a great diversity of birds, this is one of the few places in the Earth where the primary forest arrives until the sea that's why is common to find mountain birds near the coasts.
Because the abundant food supplies, is an important point in the route of the migratory birds from both hemispheres .

Some of the most comun species are: the scarlet macaw, parrots, parakeets, relative species of huming birds included the "Amacilia Manglera" (endemic bird), woodpeckers, grassquits, flycatchers, tanager and hawks , mentioning some but we cannot forget to mention the variety of de egrets, herons, king fishers, plovers, sandpipers, pelicans, etc.
