SIRIMON IN-NARUMORU OUT

Day 1 - Old Moses Camp
We depart from Nairobi to Nanyuki a 3 hr drive. We take lunch at Nanyuki Hotel. We drive to Sirimon gate and hike through montane forest bamboo and rosewood up to the Old Moses hut gaining an elevation range of 700 m in 3-4 hours depending on your pace.
Dinner and rest at Old Moses hut (3300m)

Day 2 Shipton Camp
After breakfast, we traverse the expansive moorland carpeted with tussock grasses giant lobelia and senecio plants, crossing streams and valleys. This takes us through the Mac kinder valley for a brief stopover for picnic lunch.
Dinner and rest at Ship tons Camp.

Day 3 - Shipton Camp
This involves acclimatization before attempting the summit. Relaxing around the summit, hiking around the small valleys.
Dinner and rest at Shipton Camp (4200m)

Day 4 - Old Moses Camp
Pre-dawn attempt of the summit starts at 0300 hrs taking us to point Lenana, 4985m
(Hikers summit) in time to watch the sunrise. We descend back to Shiptons Camp for breakfast. We descend down slowly back to Old Moses Camp.
Dinner and rest at Old Moses (3300m).

Day 5 - Nairobi
After breakfast, we descend leisurely to the Sirimon Park gate to catch our vehicles for transfer back to Nairobi.

6 Days Marangu Route


DAY 1 : NAIROBI - ARUSHA

We depart from Nairobi by shuttle bus to Arusha arriving at 3.00 p.m. to check in to the Arusha Hotel, lunch will be taken at a stopover along the journey.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 2 : ARUSHA-MANDARA HUT
We leave Arusha after Breakfast with a guide to Marangu gate for registration and ascent to Mandara Hut. The climb to Mandara hut lasts between (4-5 hours).

Please Note: 'This Can change depending on your pace'
Dinner and overnight (Mandara Hut)

DAY 3: MANDARA HUT -HOROMBO HUT
After Breakfast, we emerge from the Forest to open moorlands and the first views Kibo taking about 5 to 7 hours depending on your pace to Horombo Hut.
Dinner and overnight (Horombo Hut -3700M)

DAY 4: HOROMBO HUT - KIBO HUT
We move up past the "Last Water" to emerge on the saddle - a spectacular view of the high altitude desert, past Mawenzi. Trekking time is (5-7 hours) depending on your pace.

DAY 5: KIBO HUT - UHURU PEAK - HOROMBO HUT
The climb begins at 2 a.m. to Gillman's point on the crater rim. (5860m) then on up to Uhuru peak (5896m) taking about 3 hours. We descend further to Horombo hut after reaching the summit.

DAY 6: HOROMBO HUT - MARANGU GATE - ARUSHA
We trek further down from Horombo Hut to Marangu gate then proceed to Arusha Resort.

Hiking & Walking BEST OF 7DAYS CAVES EXPEDITION WALK

Chyulu Hills offers the most unique scenic features of volcanic geology comprising of cones and barren lava flows most popular being 'Shaitani lava flow'. The porous rock layers collect the rain water and taking it underground to Mzima Springs which provides water to the coastal people.

Chyulu Hills rising up to 2174m.what you expect to see to, Oryx, Giraffe, Elands Zebra and Lion. It is also an island of high tropical plants the most common being the red poker tree.

Also expect to hike long hours in caves using headlamps

Day 1

Leave Nairobi after breakfast driving. to chyulu hills. You will find lunch ready at the fly camp set at the the foot of the Chyulu hills next the two eye catching Elmau hills. Afternoon is spent with game drives and hikes around the camp. and sight seeing

Day 2

After bush breakfast and short drive towards the Chyulu hills we trek for 3hours hour walk to a designated campsite which is on a ridge from where you can see the Kilimanjaro in the south west and the Yatta plateau to the east lunch is severed in between the trek. Dinner and rest at campsite with fliers.

Day 3

After breakfast, we set off on an guided walk about 6hours along the western slopes with excellent views of Kilimanjaro and the Maasai plains below. We come along tall grass, the acacia trees and volcanic formations always on your way making it more adventurous. The walk continues heading for the southern edge of the ranges. Lunch is severed in between the trek on the way before proceeding second Camp base. Dinner and rest at base camp

Day 4

After breakfast we hike to the Maasai plains. We interact with giraffes, zebras, gnus, gazelles and here, besides watching numerous water birds, you will have a chance of spotting hippos while you enjoy lunch. After lunch you will drive to Loitokitok.dinner and rest at campsite using fliers.

Day 5

After breakfast we head to explore the gorge of the Nalemoro River . We pass a riverbed leading to a scenic spot where water falls several meters during the rainy season forming a clear pool. Here you will have a superb picnic lunch before proceeding to the Tanzanian border from where you can catch a magnificent view of Kilimanjaro on clear days. Dinner and rest at base camp using fliers.

Day 6

After a breakfast we drive to the Amboseli National for full day game drives. Amboseli is home of various elephant species' sometimes herds of 200 being spotted. Besides the elephants, it is also home for buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and antelopes as well the predator's lion, cheetah and occasionally leopard. Lunch is severed in between. Dinner and rest at campsite using fliers

Day 7

Wake up call for early morning game drive. Later have morning breakfast, we relax in the swim at pool and after an early lunch proceed to Nairobi or your next destination.

Backpacking mount kenya expedition 4days

4 DAYS NAROMORU IN - NAROMORU OUT
DAY 1 (MET STATION)
We leave Nairobi to Naromoru gate, a 3 hrs drive. We have lunch at picnic site (inside the park) as we relax. Trekking begins after lunch to Met Station taking 4 hours depending on your pace.
Dinner and rest Met Station (3300m).

DAY 2 (MACKINDERS CAMP)
We have morning breakfast, then hike up to Teleki Valley through Moorland. Lunch will be served along the trek. Approx trekking time: 6-7 hours.
Dinner and rest at Mackinders Camp (4200m).

DAY 3 (MET STATION CAMP)
Early morning we attempt point Lenana (4988M) at dawn to catch early sunrise. The trek is approx 4 hours. We descend down to Mackinders for breakfast, then further down to Met Station Camp for dinner and rest. (3300m)

DAY 4 (NAROMORU - NAIROBI)
After breakfast descend down to Naromoru gate back to Nairobi.
