Mountain Biking 6 day adventure tour

mountain bike tour especially for people with little time but want to do and see a lot.

Mountain bike tour 6 days.

Day 1, We leave Quito at 07.30 direcion south by the panamerican highway in 4+4 with a bilengual driver / guide.
Alter 80 kms we reach the entrance of the nacional park Cotopaxi.
Cotopaxi is known as the highest active Vulcano in the World.
We drive up to 4200 mts ( 12000 feet) and start after a snack for a great hike in an area were condors are frequent.
Back we will start our first bike ride, we provide bikes with front suspensión, V brakes, helmets, knee and elbow pads and gloves.
This ride is about 40 kms ( 25 miles ) and we have a home made lunch along the way.
In the afternoon we go by car to the town of Riobamba, were we spend the night in hotel Monte Carlo.

Day 2, Today an early rise to get on our way to the mountain Chimborazo,
The highest in the Ecuadorian Andes, we drive by car to an altitude of 4800 mts. (15000 feet) and start a hike to 5000 mts
This will be youre highest point on youre tour, back at 4800 mts. We Stara with a verry nice ride down the mountain were the have Vicuñas running free ( a kind of Llama ) after we continue thru indiana reas until we reach the town of Ambato.
This ride is about 70 km. ( 50 miles ) and goes from 48oo mts to 2800mts.
In Ambato we load up the bikes and have a little transfer to Baños,
A nice town with an active Vulcano, wich is erupting almost constantly since 1999, we will spend the night in a Hostal called La Floresta.

Day 3 For this day you can cose between various activities
A trip rafting down the river Pastaza is one or a horseride to see the active Vulcano is another posibility.
Stroling aroud Banos in the afternoon is also interesting, we spend the night
In the same hostal.

Day 4 Again an early rise and on the bikes we start going down the road known as the avenue of the orcids along the river Pastaza,
On the way you will see several waterfalls and we end up in the jungle basin, we load up the bikes in a town called Puyo and continue by car to a small town Puerto Napo, from were you can cycle along the river Napo witch is the biggest river that flotas into the Amazon river, and we end up in Misahualli, our place were we spend the night in Albuerge Español.

Day 5 Tha little town of Misahualli is full of monkeys and has a nice atmosphere on the banks of the river Napo.
Its located at an altitude of 700 mts. (2200 feet) and is not known for malaria, but a lot of repelent is avised. And long sleeves.
For this day we have planned a tour with a local guide into the jungle.
We visit primary and secondary forrest, washing gold, blowing the Sarbatana.
A tradicional blow pipe, we visit a native famely and in the afternoon a butterfly faro.
We spend the night in the same hotel Albuerge Español.

Day 6 We start with a ride by car to Tena and from there to Papallacta
The best Hotsprings in america, pools with all kind of temperaturas and cristal clear.
After this relaxing bath we drive to the pass of the virgen at 4000 mts
(13000 feet) and start going down in the direccion of Quito about 60 kms.
Partly on main road, partly on dirtroad and partly on an old railroad track
At the end of the day we return to Quito.

2 in Baños and 2 in Misahualli.

A guided and equipped rafting or horseriding tour in Baños

Also its posible to add a day or two for example with a night at the crater Quilotoa or a day with Otavalo market and the Equator line.
