Chiang Mai City-Culture-Ride
Chiang Mai City Culture is a half day cycling tour that takes you trough and around the rich cultural centre of Chiang Mai.
During this tour of 25km we cycle as much as possible over quiet roads and small lanes passing by beautiful temples and watching the Thai people with there daily activities.
The tour starts daily from our office: Baan Nai Fun 1 in Pa-Dead. Cycling over mostly quiet roads and small lanes we’ll pass trough and around the rich cultural centre of Chiang Mai.
We stop at a silversmith that makes many different beautiful products in all kinds of forms and shapes.
Of course we visit the Silver Temple of this village to see how the monks keep them self occupied with making decorations in the aluminium that is used for the renovation of this temple.
After this stop we cycle trough narrow alleys and small lanes to the centre where we’ll visit Wat Chedi Luang that was build already in the 14th century.
After visiting and photographing this remarkable Chedi we take a refreshment at the woman prison foundation. This foundation makes it possible that the woman after they have done there sentences can find there way back in to society again.
After this refreshment its time to visit the biggest active and most beautiful temple of Chiang Mai: Wat Pra Sing.
After this stop we continue our trip and come to the outer circle of the centre where we cycle trough a fresh market.
U will be surprised about the many different kinds of fresh fish mostly sold here in the early morning hours.
All cycling we pass by the flower market of Chiang Mai in the so called China Town area. Here we see the most beautiful flowers of the north. After this visit it is time to cross the river where we will make a stop at another local market. Here we have more time for explaining and tasting the exotic fruits and other delicious snacks.
After this stop we are charged again to cycling over a beautiful route back to our office.

Doi Saket Discovery
Doi Saket Discovery (45km)
The excursion is a well planned route, on peaceful roads and through beautiful parks. Participants are taken to areas where it looks like time has stood still.
The first surprise awaits us only 30 minutes away. Together with our bicycles we board a boat at the Ping River that brings us to the northern part of Chiang Mai. Here we get back on dry land at a farmhouse, where we have an herb juice and some fresh fruit before continuing our cycling trip.
This day brings us to the rural life of the Chiang Mai province, and we see various agricultural activities.
The route goes along the rice fields, passing by beautiful temples and local villages.
Throughout the whole day we enjoy the ever changing scenery.
Also, a visit to a rice mill let us be surprised about how this remarkable machine works.
While cycling over rural country roads, we arrive at our restaurant. "It is time for a delicious lunch on the waterside overlooking the rice fields.
Recharged after lunch we continue our route on peaceful country roads passing by a natural reservoir and a teak forest until we arrive at the Mae Kuang Dam. Here we have a refreshment and enjoy the beautiful view.
The nearby school is pleased when we honor them with a visit. This gives the children the chance to practice their English with you.
After this visit we cycle to the Doi Saket temple, located at the top of the hill.
This temple is the social centre of the village and has activities almost all the time.
Here our transport for the way back is also waiting for us. While the bikes are loaded, you have some time to walk around the local market. The tour ends approximately at 17:30.

Secrets of Lamphun
SECRETS OF LAMPHUN
Secrets of Lamphun is a 2 day cycling excursion that takes you trough the enchanting province of Lamphun.
During this unforgettable cycling excursion over peaceful country roads, passing by rice fields, fruit orchards and beautiful temples in small villages you will get to know
the rich cultural background of this first Lanna kingdom.
The route goes for a big part trough these small communities where we see the daily activities of the villagers and avoid most of the traffic.
Day 1 55km
The tour starts daily 9:00am from our office Baan Nai Fun 1 in Pa-Dead and takes us southwards following the Ping river over quiet roads and trough small villages while cycling and enjoying the beautiful changing surroundings..
In Lamphun we pass by cycling 2 beautiful Dvaravati styled chedi’s
These chedi’s are known for holding the relics of Queen Cham Devi her horse and elephant and are more than 1000 years old.
To learn more about the history of this city we visit the Harinpunchai museum that will give us more insight of this remarkable place. After this visit it is time for a delicious Thai lunch.
After lunch we have a look at a local temple where older woman keep them selves occupied with weaving of clothes.
We continue our trip by visiting one of the most revered temples in Northern Thailand: Wat Harinpunchai.
After visiting and photographing this beautiful temple we leave the city behind us.
We continue our discovery tour trough rice fields and fruit orchards till we reach our idyllic situated resort where we spend the night. (this resort has a swimming pool)
Day 2 +/- 60km
The second day we start at 8:30 from our resort and we cycle trough a district that is not often visited by tourists so don’t be surprised if the locals want to talk to you or show you there merchandise.
The whole day you will be enjoying the beautiful paths that are leading us from one village to another.
In these village’s we see the daily activities of the villagers like making rice wine, rice noodles and Sa paper.
While cycling trough these villages we discover several chedi’s and ruins, some of them are even more than 700 years old.
We visit a temple that is well known for having the footprints of the lord Buddha.
After this visit we continue our trip and visit a family atelier that makes porcelain dolls.
This family atelier is already for more than 50 years in business and the owner is always very proud to show his unique collection of thousands porcelain dolls.
The route brings us back to the Ping river where a boat is waiting for us.
Together with our bikes we embark the boat that will bring us upstream so we can have a rest and enjoy watching the daily activities on the riverbanks.
After this mini cruise we set foot on land and visit a local market where we will have a drink and some snacks before we cycle the last part back to the office where we will arrive at approximate 4:30pm

Colors of Chiang Mai
THE COLORS OF CHIANG MAI
“Colors of Chiang Mai” is a 4-5 hour bicycling tour through the southern part of Chiang Mai.
The trip starts daily 08:00 AM & 13:00 PM from our office Ban Nai Fun 1, in Chiang Mai.
Since this tour is developed by Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd., the recreational aspect is next to our safety policy a priority. Therefore every healthy person who is able to balance and ride a bicycle can join this trip.
During this trip, which holds a maximum of 8 people per group, participants will learn and see parts of the rich cultural and culinary background of Chiang Mai.
The routing goes on quiet and green land roads, passing the former capital of Lana; Wiang Kum Kam that shows us temples and ruins dating back hundreds of years. We’ll visit a Chinese temple, the Mc Kean rehabilitation center: a former leper colony, a special school for monks: mostly hill-tribes children; stop at a small pottery where we can see how they produce different shapes of pottery by hand.
Ride along the Ping River and breathe the local atmosphere that makes Chiang Mai so special. We’ll stop at a candy factory and try some of the famous and delicious Chiang Mai candy; a local bakery let us see how they produce many different products by hand. On the market we see those products back in small shops; here we also let you try some of the most delicious and exotic fruits and other snacks.
During the trip we will stop about every hour to rest and to provide you drinking water or a soft drink. Halfway we will offer a small local meal (Kao Soy Kai) in a local restaurant.
Bicycles used are all imported, U.S. designed, 24 speeds, front suspension all terrain comfort bikes.

Chiang Mai Paradise
CHIANG MAI PARADISE
Chiang Mai Paradise is a one day cycling adventure through the south-eastern part of Chiang Mai.
The excursion starts daily 9:00 AM from our office
The routing goes over quiet country roads and through small villages where we can see: Farmers working in the rice fields, while their wives fill the day by making terracotta. A little bit further we stop at an old temple where the oldest people from the village making flowers and garlands of paper and textiles which are used during weddings and Buddhist ceremonies.
We continue our trip through the rice fields and make a short stop at a farm where mushrooms are being cultivated. In this area we see much kind of industries. We see women from a local village making rice crackers, banana chips, Soya bean paste and many more products. Of course we have you taste some of these delicacies. Meanwhile it’s around noon and we have lunch at a typical local restaurant. While the chef is preparing our food we have some time to stroll over the market which is next to the restaurant, and look at all sorts of different merchandise.
Our journey continues following the Ping River and over country roads. Did you ever wonder what is in the pieces of bamboo they sell alongside the roads? Here you will get the answer and will learn how many different variations there are. In this area most of the farmers grow lettuce, cabbage, ore other vegetables.
After another nice cycling ride we arrive at a small restaurant at the water where will have a local cup of coffee or some herb juice. We visit a 700 years old chedi and see how the 2 styles, Lopburi and Burmese, are mixed.
After a stop at the local market where we will let you taste some fruits or snacks, we expect to arrive back to our office around 16:30 PM. During this cycling adventure we will have a break every hour to rest and have a drink.
The stops and the places of interest may vary and are depending on seasonal activities.
Every healthy person and is able to balance and ride a bicycle can join this trip. This excursion will give an unforgettable experience to your stay in Chiang Mai.

Day 1 +/- 45 KM
Chiang Mai – Doi Saket
The excursion starts 08:00am from our office Baan Nai Fan 1, Chiang Mai.
After about 30 minutes awaits us the first surprise. Together with our bicycles we embark the boat at the Ping River that brings us to the northern part of Chiang Mai. Here we get on land at a farmhouse where we will have some fruit juice before we continue our cycling trip .The first day brings us to the country side of Chiang Mai province and we will see different kind of agricultural activities.
The route goes along the rice fields and we pass by beautiful temples. The whole day you will enjoy the changing scenery. Before we arrive at our resort, we pass by the Mae Kuang Dam where we will have a little break and enjoy the beautiful view.
Day 2 +/- 45 KM
Doi Saket – San Kamphaeng
On the second day we cycle from Doi Saket to San Kamphaeng . Along the way we visit a Chinese cemetery and Doi Saket temple that is located on top of the hill. This temple is the social centre of the village and has activities most of the time. The trip continues over country roads and we stop at an orphanage for hill-tribe children. Here we also have lunch.
After lunch we continue our journey through the rice fields and small villages where most of the people work with wood and or metal handicrafts. Of course we stop to make some pictures and give you more information. The night we stay in a Lana style resort where you can get a real Thai massage for a reasonable price.
Day 3 +/- 35 KM
San Kamphaeng – Chiang Mai
Day 3 and the last day of Chiang Mai Treasures we cycle from San Kamphaeng through Bo Sang back to Chiang Mai. Along the way we stop at a small candle factory where you can try your artistic skills by making your personal designed candle. In Bo Sang where we have lunch you can walk around and have a look at a rice paper factory. The last stop is on a local market where we let you taste different kinds of fruit and snacks.
The excursion ends around 16:00 at our office .Of course we arrange, if necessary, transport back to your hotel.
