Secrets of Siam™ is a two day boat and bike excursion that will cross the provincial border of Bangkok to Samut Prakan.
During the excursion participants will see lots of nature and brings you to places seldom visited by tourists. Passing local markets, public parks, small villages and beautiful temples that will give you impressions of Thailand you will remember for a long time. On the first day the trip includes a spectaculair long tail boat ride and on the second day a mini-cruise on the Chao Praya River.

What & Where: The excursion starts from our office 08:00 AM. Soon after we left, we’ll cross the river and start cycling over 1 meter concrete pathways through plantations and small communities. While cycling through a local fresh market, participants will see al kinds of strange merchandise. Your questions will be answered and pictures are taken. A little further we stop at a temple made from the tea-ware of locals. The routing continues through a beautiful park and small pathways with on the left and right side a sea of green. Here we also sea the First orchid farm. Who would have thought to see this in Bangkok? In the meantime we have arrived at our lunch address, a nice restaurant along one of Bangkok canals.

After lunch, the long-tail boats are already waiting for us to bring us to an area known of its many shrimp- and fish-farms. We continue cycling and you will have the feeling as if you are hundreds of kilometres out of town. We stay the night in a good 3-star hotel where we also enjoy our dinner. Our hotel has a swimming pool, so bring your swimwear.
On the second day we’ll leave 08:30 AM from our hotel en bike southwards to the Gulf of Thailand. We pass nostalgic villages and communities and of course a lots of scenic beauty. After we visited “the Ancient City” we will have lunch in a authentic Thais restaurant with a view on the Gulf of Thailand.

After lunch we will bike a little more to the Chao Praya River where our boat is waiting to bring us back at Yannawa district.
Secrets of Siam ends on day 2 about 16:30 at our office.
During the trip we stop about every hour to rest a little and drink something.

What & Where: In about 45 minutes after our start, we arrive at a local fresh-market. While riding across the market we see widely differing merchandises from smoked pig heads to flowers. A little further on our way we stop at the remains of defense walls built during the Colonial Era that stopped Western countries occupy Thailand. We continue our routing and make a short stop at a small factory where they produce the forcemeat balls you see floating in many kinds of Thai soups. After 20 more minutes pedaling, we arrive at the “Golden Temple”. The journey continues over concrete pathways, through a scenic park and passing orchid farms and brings us at the pier where long tails boats are waiting for us.

A spectacular canal trip brings us to the most southern district of Bangkok. It’s difficult to believe that you’re in Bangkok Metropolis because it feels like if you’re hundreds of kilometers out of the city. We visit a small factory where the produce incense-sticks used at every temple and stop at a typical Thai/Chinese flower-farm.

Since this tour is developed by Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd., the recreational aspect is next to our safety policy a priority. Therefore every healthy person who is able to balance and ride a bicycle can join this trip. During this trip, which holds a maximum of 8 people per group only, participants get to see the huge differences this metropolis has to offer.

We will visit a local Buddhist temple complex, a sweatshop making sandals or other items, take a short boat trip across the Chao Praya river in a long tail boat, see not only luxurious villas and apartments but also slum houses and the people living there as well, see an open-air Muay Thai school (kick boxing), a Burmese style (Mon) built Chedi, a local elementary school, ride through the greenest area of Bangkok and recognize the plants, you might have at home, only here they are bigger.

On the biggest part of “Colors of Bangkok”, cars and other heavy traffic are not able to drive, which results in a 95% traffic free route.
During the trip we will stop about every hour to rest and to provide you drinking water or a soft drink. Halfway we will offer a small local meal (Pad Tai Kung or Kao Pad) in a local restaurant.

Rickshaw & Hike the Colors of Bangkok
4 years ago, we successfully launched our cycling tour, “Colors of Bangkok”. Now, at the request of many of our partners, we’ve introduced a tour for people who would like to experience the “Colors of Bangkok”, but would prefer to walk instead of cycle. We’ve named it “Rickshaw & Hike The Colors of Bangkok”. Like “Colors of Bangkok”, our trip gives participants a totally different view of the Bangkok as seen in brochures and magazines.

“Rickshaw & Hike the Colors…” starts from our office 10 AM. Participants will be surprised what happens behind and away from the concrete walls and buildings of Bangkok. After visiting a typical local temple, we walk at a relaxed pace through one of the poorest neighborhoods of Bangkok. You’ll learn that, although people don’t have much by our own western standards, they’re more than friendly, and content with their lives. This remains an authentic part of the Thai way-of–life. The way people live along the many canals in Bangkok can’t be seen while passing by in a tourist boat, but by actually walking along them. After this experience, we go for a short long-tail boat ride across the Chao Praya river.

Once on the other side, we actually enter a jungle of banana, mango, papaya and coconut trees. You can’t even reach here by bicycle; nature lovers will feel at ease. A little further on, we visit a beautiful park, where we rest a while and feed the hundreds of fish waiting at the pond.
After enjoying the beauties of the park, the birds, squirrels and butterflies, we continue our walk to our lunch destination. A Thai lunch will be served in a typical local setting.

When everyone is ready, the next surprise awaits. We continue our journey in a real “samlor” (Thai rickshaw or “bicycle taxi”), to make a cycling trip through the greenest part of Bangkok, before reaching the jetty. There a long-tail boat awaits, ready to bring us back to the familiar concrete side of Bangkok.

Children & Toddlers
The Colors of …

Of course we welcome children on our The Colors of… excursions.
We as well, only want the best for your child. That is why we handle families with small children, younger than 12 years as private group. This way we can focus on the abilities of the youngest participants and if necessary change the routing.
Tours with children between 1- 11 years should be booked as “Private tour”
A maximum of one child, between 1 – 11 years old, per parent or guardian can join the excursion
Children between 1 – 5 years or with a maximum weight 48LBS (22 Kg.) can join the tour free of charge. These children should be able to sit in a special children’s seat on the carrier
For children between 6 – 11 years, special children bikes are available. The applicable fee is 50 % of the private tour rate
For children of 12 years and older the adult fee is applicable
Parents or guardians are fully responsible for the behavior and well-being of their children during the excursion(s). No claims can be made on whatsoever to Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd., its management, its staff or its guides
Rickshaw & Hike the Colors of Bangkok

Children of all ages are able to join our Rickshaw & Hike tour. Besides the educational aspect of the trip, your children will have an unforgettable experience.
The following conditions apply:
Children between 0 – 5 years can join free of charge as long as they are accompanied by at least one parent or guardian per child. It is recommended to bring a buggy or carrier for any child
Children 6 – 8 years can join for 50% of the contract rate
For children of 9 years and older the adult fee is applicable

Rickshaw & Hike the Colors of Bangkok
4 years ago, we successfully launched our cycling tour, “Colors of Bangkok”. Now, at the request of many of our partners, we’ve introduced a tour for people who would like to experience the “Colors of Bangkok”, but would prefer to walk instead of cycle. We’ve named it “Rickshaw & Hike The Colors of Bangkok”. Like “Colors of Bangkok”, our trip gives participants a totally different view of the Bangkok as seen in brochures and magazines.

“Rickshaw & Hike the Colors…” starts from our office 10 AM. Participants will be surprised what happens behind and away from the concrete walls and buildings of Bangkok. After visiting a typical local temple, we walk at a relaxed pace through one of the poorest neighborhoods of Bangkok. You’ll learn that, although people don’t have much by our own western standards, they’re more than friendly, and content with their lives. This remains an authentic part of the Thai way-of–life. The way people live along the many canals in Bangkok can’t be seen while passing by in a tourist boat, but by actually walking along them. After this experience, we go for a short long-tail boat ride across the Chao Praya river.

Once on the other side, we actually enter a jungle of banana, mango, papaya and coconut trees. You can’t even reach here by bicycle; nature lovers will feel at ease. A little further on, we visit a beautiful park, where we rest a while and feed the hundreds of fish waiting at the pond.
After enjoying the beauties of the park, the birds, squirrels and butterflies, we continue our walk to our lunch destination. A Thai lunch will be served in a typical local setting.

When everyone is ready, the next surprise awaits. We continue our journey in a real “samlor” (Thai rickshaw or “bicycle taxi”), to make a cycling trip through the greenest part of Bangkok, before reaching the jetty. There a long-tail boat awaits, ready to bring us back to the familiar concrete side of Bangkok.
