The paintings of the Gods and Pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt. Then continue to Dendara to visit the Temple of Hathor. $50 per person -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dendara Temple (1/2 Day) This temple is about 1 hour north of Luxor and this makes for a quieter visit. Your Air-conditioned minibus and a guide will collect you from your hotel or apartment. You then join the convoy to Dendara and make the journey north. This is a special temple surrounded by the desert it also has wonderful ceiling paintings. $30 per person -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aswan and Abu Simbel Tours Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo, Aswan Dam & Philae Temple (1 Day) In your own private air-conditioned minibus you will travel out by convoy, and return by first class train at 6pm. Your guide will take you to visit Edfu then Kom Ombo temples. You will then visit the High Dam in Aswan and the Island Temple of Philae. You will then board your train and return to Luxor at 9:30pm. Your guide will begin to explain the history of the site. As one of the few ancient Egyptian sites which largely escaped destruction and damage by past invaders of the country, the interior of both temples at Abu Simbel is astounding. The attraction of the temples is further enhanced by their scenic location on the edge of Lake Nasser. After visiting the temples there may be time for a short visit to the small visitor's center which documents the UNESCO relocation project, before returning to the minibus for the drive back to Aswan.
