This is the route first used by the early expedition’s team to climb Everest from the Nepalese side. Starting from Jiri, the route passes through the Sherpa villages of the Solu Khumbu, many of them having beautiful Buddhist monasteries. The height gain is gradual making it easier to acclimatize. After a rest day in Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, the trail continues to famous Thyangboche Monastery. Its setting encircled by giant mountains has been called one of the most beautiful places on earth. The aim of this trek is to climb Kala Pattar, from where the southwest face of Everest can be clearly seen, as well as a side trip to Everest Base Camp. The return trek leads to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu. This Teahouse (lodged) or Camping (Tents Camp) based trek is certainly a 'classic' and is enjoyed by trekkers from all round the world. Mera Peak 6,654m Autumn 2012
From the south the mountain is much more approachable. Seen from the lakes east of the Kongma La, a small, stepped glacier descends from the summit between long, rocky arms that make up the mountain's South and South-East Ridges. The margins of the glacier provide the normal route of ascent. As with Pokalde the views from the summit are spectacular, especially so because of the nearness of the massive south face of Nuptse. The views northwards towards Pumori and the Lho La are also outstanding. Formerly called Mehra Peak or simply Mehra, this attractive mountain rises to the north of the Kongma La above the Khumbu glacier opposite Lobuje, and is one of several small summits, including Pokalde, that make up the long South-West Ridge of Nuptse, between the Khumbu and Nuptse Glaciers. Seen from Gorak Shep, the summit has a diamond shaped hanging glacier above a steeply inclined rock wall that makes up the mountain's North Face, which is in turn slashed by a diagonal ice ramp leading to the lower edge of the glacier.

Parcharmo Peak 6,187m Autumn 2012
Seen from the pass the mountain is an attractive but straightforward snow peak with a well defined north by north west ridge rising from the relatively flat, crevassed glacier astride the Tesi Lapcha. To the west of the ridge the face forms a uniform snow slope broken by crevasses and small seracs rising from the rocky lower buttresses above the Drolambau Glacier. Parchamo peak has become a derigueur climb for trekkers crossing the high Tasi Lapcha (5,755m/18,875ft) to Namche Bazaar in the Everest area. The peak can be combined with the more demanding Ramdung Go peak combined with the trek over the Tesi Lapcha in about 25 days or so. The peak, which lies due south of the Tesi Lapcha, is unnamed on the Schneider Rolwaling Himal map, but is given a spot height of 6,273 metres (20,581ft). The Mandala Lamasangu to Everest map calls the peak Parchoma, which is quite possibly a spelling mistake. Both Shipton's and Gregory's expedition surveys gave the peak an altitude close to 6,318m (20,700ft).

Chulu West Peak 6,419m Autumn 2012

Price:
3100.00 USD per service
Between the two Chulus, Chulu West is the higher peak. A Japanese Expedition first ascended it in 1952. The Base Camp of this peak is situated in a small valley North of Manang, off the main trail to the Thorang La. There is a controversy regarding the name and location of the Chulu peaks. There are several peaks close by and are also a part of Chulu massif but are not indicated in the map. Thus it is difficult to differentiate between the two Chulus. However, the Chulu group comprises of four peaks: two in the east and two in the west. Chulu West may also be called Chulu Central. There is no technical difficulty in ascending this peak but progress can be slow as the slopes are vulnerable to avalanches in certain conditions in Chulu West 6419m.

Mt. Everest 8,848m Tibet Expedition Spring 2012

Price:
10000.00 USD per service, per
person
Expedition begins when you arrive to Kathmandu where you meet the staff of our company in the airport and transfer you to hotel. Next day, we have introduction section with other climbing members & Expedition crews. Since then we make your Tibet visa and other necessary document for the Everest Expedition. After 3 day, we drive you towards Nepal-Tibet border up to Friendship Bridge through Arnico Highway, where the Chinese liaison officer and Chinese transport meet us. The expedition gears go by truck while we travel by Land cruiser 4wd. We take time to acclimatize with one night at Zhangmu 2,300m and two nights at Nyalam 3,750m, which also gives us the chance to trek up high hills for acclimatization. Next day we drive to Tingri 4,350m where we spend further two nights acclimatizing. Then we drive Tingri to Base camp 5,400m along rough way with jerking & bouncing through grassy plain leading up to Everest BC, which is also called Chinese base camp. We set up our camp at Chinese Base Camp and stay two nights or more, depending on how everyone feels. We also make schedules of the yaks by that time. Base camp is a temporary but comfortable affair with Nepali cook and dining tent. Now the two-day walk towards advanced base camp (ABC) begins. After waking 2 days, we reach to ABC 6,400m along with the Yaks. From ABC the route goes to the east Rongbuk (Everest Base) glacier and after that there is an easy snow slopes to the North Col at 7,000m. Where camp 1 is situated on snow. After that there is a long reasonably angled snow slopes to climb 7,400m. Where we should put camp 2 on snow. The route from Camp 2 to camp 3 is the series of the rocks, which is little bit difficult, but again there is a very easy terrain to walk ahead to set up camp 3. This camp 3 is at the height of 7900m on the rock. The route again goes through a series of rocky climbs, and then there is a median angled snow slopes where we have to climb on mixed rocks and snow until we reach camp 4 at 8,400m. Now this camp is on the rock but some times ago it was snow covered. To reach there, we have to fix ropes on climbing but there are safety lines, which provide you safe place when you are tired and wind is blowing. This route is mostly very windy especially between camps 2 to camp 3. Camp 4 is the last camp for Everest summit from North East Ridge. Now route is mixed rocks and snow steps. This step is quite steep in many places so you require very considerable care for yourself, for your clothing and oxygen equipments. After that, the North East Ridge is wide but we have to climb through small steps with little bit height until we go ahead where we fix rope. Above there the climbing is little bit exposed but it is easy again to reach ahead in the second steps. After the second steps the route is series of small nude ridge, which is some times covered with snow. After that route with large boulder where we should use ladder to climb ahead. Again after that section of the route, we should fix rope. Above these steps, route is relatively easy with gentle ground until we reach at the third steps. Now to go head it is not series as the previous steps but we should use the fixed rope to the Col before the final summit of snow slopes. Again there are quite steep and fixed ropes to go ahead to the buttressed rocks from where there is a short section of corniced ridge to reach on the Summit of Everest.

Mt. Everest Expedition Spring 2012

Price:
26500.00 USD per service, per
person
Even though the highest mountain in the world has been conquered many times in this forty-six year since the first conquest. Everest is still as inexplicable, beguiling and magnificent as ever. Standing incredibly tall silhouetted against the shared sky of Nepal and Tibet, this mountain has many names: Chomolungma, Sagarmatha, Qomolungma or Mt. Everest. Whichever name one chooses, its vagueness still lives on. Sir E. Hillary & Tenzing Norgay first climbed it in 1953. Possibly the most colorful story about the early attempts on Everest is the one involving Captain J. Noel and his native companions. He disguised himself as a Mohammaden and made a journey from Darjeeling through Northwest Sikkim and round the north of Kanchenjunga in an attempt to reach Everest. Unfortunately, not even the disguise could see him through. His mission was out short just sixty-five kms from Everest when a posse of Tibetan soldiers forced them to turn back. Although there are a dozen or so routes on Mt. Everest we follow the classical route, traditionally the most reliable way to the summit.

Mt. Annapurna I Expedition Spring 2012

Price:
7600.00 USD per service, per
person
Annapurna is a Sanskrit word which when broken down, would mean, "Sustenance" and "filled with". So the name would translate into "The Goddess rich in Sustenance" or simply "The Provider". It was first climbed by M. Herzog & L. Lachenal in 1950. The Annapurna Himal and the Lamjung Himal stretch from the Kali Gandaki in the west to the Marshyangdi in the east. Four summits make up Annapurna with the entire massif forming a barrier on the northern side of the Pokhara Valley in Nepal. The main summit stands to the west of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Little was known about the mountain until 1949when Dr. A. Heim from the windows of a Dakora aircraft viewed Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The aircraft could not fly high enough for proper observation or for photographs, still the next year, June 3rd 1950, Annapurna was conquered. It was the first eight thousanders to be climbed; the French accomplished this feat. However, all the routes on the mountain pose severe difficulties and hence it is probably why fewer climbers have reached the summit in comparison to other 8,000m peaks.

Mt. Manaslu Expedition Spring 2012
Manaslu lies in the Nepal Himalaya, Kali Gandaki valley. This mountain was previously known as Kutan l. 'tang' being the Tibetan word for flat place,s thereby describing the mountain's general summit. It was then renamed Manaslu which comes from the Sanskrit word "Manasa" meaning "intellect" or "soul". T.Imanishi & g. Norbu first climbed it in 1956. Many consider the three peaks of Manaslu as Japanese peaks as they were the first to reach its summit in 1956. There exist half a dozen different routes on Manaslu today. The south face of this "mountain of intellect" is arguably the toughest in climbing history. Our caravan route takes off at Sama Gaon, where incidentally Makalu is called Kambung- after a local god. It was here in this selfsame village back in 1954 that the second Japanese expedition met with bitter resistance from the locals. They blamed the presence of the heathen foreigners for the avalanches and pestilence on the valley. They felt that Japanese had insulted the gods dwelling in the mountains thereby angering them into creating such adverse conditions.

The Dhaulagiri Himal lies south of the Tibet/Nepal border and the culminating high point at its eastern end is Dhaulagiri l. The seventh highest mountain in the world. Dhaulagiri towers in solitary splendor. This magnificent peak rises as a giant shoulder of shining ice and snow. It gets its name from the Sanskrit word "Dhavala" which means 'white' and 'giri' which means mountain. It was first climbed by K. Diemberger, P. Diener, M. Dorji, E. Forrer, A. Schelbert & N. Dorji in 1960. This mountain was first sighted by the British surveyors in India in the early 1800s but reminded virtually unknown until a Swiss aerial survey in 1949. This White Mountain was first climbed in 1960 by the Swiss following the Northeast ridge. Five ridges buttress Dhaulagiri l and even up until the early 1980's only the Northeast ridge had been successfully climbed. Mt. Amadablam Expedition Spring 2012
The normal route to climb mount Ama Dablam is from its South- West ridge. Most of the mountaineering beginners start their climbing through this Mount. Ama Dablam 6812m. Ama Dablam is a small snowcapped peak of 6812m lying in the Everest region. This South - West ridge is the normal and most popular route to ascend the Mt. Ama Dablam. This mountain is considered to be the most technical & difficult to climb. The mountaineers have to cross-difficult ice rocks and steep snow climbing one their climbing route. Mountaineers usually have to pitch 3 high camps on the mountain of mount Ama Dablam 6812m. To reach the first camp from base camp, the climbers have to pass the toughest and the difficult passing through the difficult saddle ridges; and then should turn to the north climbing up through the rocky ground and through the boulder. We are in Camp one now. From Camp I - one has to cross the rocky bowl and should climb the ridge via to the fixed lines to Camp II . From Camp II after crossing over severe rocks and ridge which lead you to a camp 2. The climbing route from Camp II is mostly with the steep mixed alleyways of rock, ice and snow. The route leads to the slope climb to snow ground and then passes through steep snow and ice tunnel then finally along the snow ridge go to Camp III, From here to the summit, it is steep climb on snow and ice to the right of a huge hanging glacier. From the Top of mount Ama Dablam very charming sceneries of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Island peak, Makalu, Khumbu Himalayan and rest of the snowcapped surrounded mountains can be envisioned.
Experience Required: All climbers need to have good skills on rock and ice climbing and technically competent. On most parts of the routes there will be fixed rope, however, the climbers should posses skills of climbing through steep rock and hard compact ice. We follow the standard South West ridge route (normal route) to the top, as it is consider the safe route, free from the objective danger such as avalanche and so on. The route we follow begins at Lukla (2850m) and the initial days of the trek pass through the legendary Sherpa country up the spectacular high valley of the Khumbu. Most of the route on the actual climbing is fixed with no icefall or glacier to negotiate, and most of it is concentrated on the crest of a ridge. The climb is relatively safe though exposed and sheep and not really a mountain for debutantes.

Other game species are ghoral, serow, Himalayan tahr, black bear, pheasant and partridge. Endangered species of the area include the red panda and cheer pheasant. Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour
Potentially one of Nepal’s most unique trek, developed as recently as November 2005 and off the beaten trek, this easy to moderate trek will take you through the Nepal midhills into the Chitwan National Park. Designed in the new concept of sustainable tourism and being completely untouched by the earlier forms of tourism, this place is pristine, untouched and extremely beautiful. Home stays on both nights of the trek make the contact with the local population real and full of experience. Even the food is local, making the contribution to the local economy maximum. Local guides and porters add to the sustainability of this trip. Magars, Gurungs and one of the disadvantaged ethnic groups in Nepal, the Chepangs live in this area. The home stays are in Magar and Gurung families and we will visit a Chepang family too. We also visit the Upardang fortress, used in earlier times by the government to collect tax in the old trade route. After two nights and three days of trekking, we continue on to one of Nepal’s best attractions, a jungle safari in the jungles of Chitwan. A trip to Nepal is incomplete if you have not been on a jungle safari. While the mountains of the north boast some of the highest and most magnificent peaks in the world, the tropical jungles of the Terai still preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. Some of these rich wildlife habitats are now protected and can be toured on elephant back, dugout canoe or on foot accompanied by a licensed guide. Nepal has sixteen national parks, wildlife reserves and conservation areas, occupying 16% of its total geographical area. Jungle safaris on elephant back or Jeep rides are offered at the Parsa Wildlife Reserve, Royal Bardia National Park, Royal Chitwan National Park and the Royal Suklaphanta wildlife reserve.
Day to day Chitwan Jungle safari Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Early drive to trail head at Hugdi on the Kathmandu – Narayanghat highway. Breakfast along the way. Start trekking uphill to about 1400 meters at Hattibang. This moderate to strenuous trek is picturesque as you pass small villages and behind you is the awesome scenery of the Trishuli river and the mountains in the horizon. Home stay in Magar houses in Hattibang
Day 2: Early rise to walk uphill for about 2 hours to reach Sirauchuli (the highest point in the Chitwan district) at 1945 meters to enjoy the 180 degree view of the Himalayas from Dhaulagiri to Gauri Shankar. Situated in the midhills, this spot also offers majestic views of the vast plains in the south. Locals have it that you can see right upto Mumbai in India (OK that is a bit far away). After breakfast on the ridge, we walk down to visit the Chepang village of Jyanjala. After a short rest here, we start the up-down (so called Nepali flat) trail to Upardangadi which will take about 4 hours. We do this moderate trek through and excellent trail meandering through forests and grazing fields, with views varying between the Himalayas and the plains of the terai. By afternoon, after the last long descent, we arrive in the village for a well deserved rest. In the early evening we walk up to the Upardang fortress for a stunning sunset, before walking back to our home stays in this Gurung village which is highlighted by a cultural performance by the people of the village (if our group size justifies it).
Day 3: After breakfast we bid goodbye to our hosts and start trekking the long walk down to the river and then along the river bed to Shaktikhor. This trek will take about 3 hours maximum. We then transfer to awaiting vehicles to drive to Chitwan. Upon arrival at the jungle lodge, the managers and naturalists will brief you on the activities they have planned. After lunch you will start your jungle activities such as elephant safaris for 2 hours deep into the jungle to experience the wildlife, flora and fauna of the park at close quarters or a bird watching tour will be organized. Dinner and overnight at the jungle lodge
Day 4: Wakeup call will be at 5:30 AM. Tea / Coffee will be served and there will be either an elephant safari or a nature walk. After breakfast canoe ride or a bird watching tour. Lunch at the lodge and after lunch an elephant briefing at the Elephant stables where naturalists will give a lecture on the Asian Elephant. Here you will have an opportunity to witness and participate in the bathing of an elephant. Dinner and overnight at the jungle lodge.
Day 5: Wakeup call at 5:30 AM. After Tea/ Coffee there will be an early morning elephant safari or nature walk. Breakfast and transfer to waiting vehicle for drive back To Kathmandu.

International Mountain Museum. Pokhara
The Himalaya is the greatest mountain system in the world. It stretches 2400 km from east to west between Nanga Parbat and Namcha Barwa peaks. Most find such an immense range of mountains hard to envisage because the scale is beyond one's experience.
Cradled among the mountains in the central Himalaya with profusion of high peaks lies the Nepal. Of the fourteen peaks in the world that exceed 8,000 meters no fewer than eight of them are in Nepal, including Mt. Everest the highest in the world.
The mystery of the unknown, sheer beauty of majestic peaks and above all, an urge to experience the challenge of climbing world's highest mountains have attracted thousands of climbers to the Himalayan slopes.
The first tentative steps towards Himalayan climbing were taken in 1920's, and several expedition teams were able to make important exploration and significant progress in climbing Mt. Everest, Nanga Parbat, K2, and Kanchenjunga. However, it was only after the opening of the Nepal Himalaya, followed by the successful ascents of the first peak over 8000m - Annapurna I by Maurice Herzog and Luis Lachenal in 1950 and Mt. Everest in 1953 by Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and New Zealander Edmund Hillary, the mountaineering activities in the Himalaya started to gain wider popularity.
The current work of the IMM project involves phase one of the project. Works in this phase includes the construction and completion of the main Museum Hall building which will house the halls for exhibit display, audio visual hall and conservation room for exhibits. The Museum Hall building covers a total floor
area of 4242 sq. meters of the total 12.5 acres of the land owned by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) for the IMM Project.
There will be two main exhibition halls, Hall of the Great Himalaya and Hall of World Mountains. These Halls will have models of famous peaks, mannequins of famous climbers, equipment and material used in mountaineering, culture and life style of mountain peoples, flora and fauna including geologic.

One of the 10th classic and best white water journeys on Sunkoshi (river of gold) is in Nepal offers a longest river trip and the most fascinating among the few rivers, which flow down from snow-capped mountains. Big rapes, warm water, beautiful scenery and great camping makes this is a classic multi-day river trip. There will be a great trip for intermediate and advanced kayakers. At its best in medium to high flows. This enchanting river expedition of 9 days will definitely be the highlight of you visit to Nepal, its memory shall last for ever and ever. Sunkoshi is an unpredictable river, it has its own moods, serene, calm and tranquil one moment, wile and turbulent the next, always changing, always challenging, the ultimate in the river adventure. So, Sun Koshi is famous in rafting circles, and with good reason. Within a short span or 9 days, you come in close contact with Nepal's natural beauty, people, culture, wildlife and its rivers, its simply magic, an experience you shall be glad you took. En route to the Chatara you come across many ethnic groups, each unique and colorful as relatively more Rais, Limbus and Newar are seen in this area. In this trip you have 250 different species of orchids to look for. River chats, dippers, flycatcher, wall creepers, bulbuls, fork tales are a few of the almost 400 species of birds available around the basin. There are numerous (abundant) rapids such as Meat Grinder, Punch, and High Anxiety etc. Scaled from 3-8 will eventually emerges into the low land of Terai at Chatara. After 45-minute drive from Chatara you arrive in Dharan, which use to be British Gurkha Army recruiting center in Nepal for decades. Now you have several options as you can Drive to Biratnagar and take a flight to Kathmandu or drive to Chitwan National Park or Koshi Tappu for an excellent safari trip or drive back to Kathmandu.
Day to Day Sun Koshi River Rafting Itinerary:
Day 1: 3hrs drive to Dolalghat; rafting starting point and short rafting camp in Tarang Gaon
Day 2: Tarang Gaon to Dumja village rafting approx. 4 hours The gathered villagers shall cheer you as you drift away slowly gathering momentum, slowly leaving behind the Langtang ranges. Sunkoshi is considered as a Holy river by the Nepalese Hindus, the river flows into the Holy Ganges in India, soon we hit the very technical rapid called Khuei Bhai rapid, strewn with rooks and boulders, hence, considerable care is need. Camp for the night near the Mahadev temple, reputed to be the first Shiva temple in Nepal.
Day 3: Dumja village to Khunkot rafting approx. 6 hours WET AND WILD.immediately we are hitting the rapids passing enroute the fishing village of Kodaris' and the Chamera Bhir were you see hundreds of bats screaming and clinging to the walls of the cliffs, some good fun filled rapids takes up to Khunkot where we camp for the night.
Day 4: Khurkot to Likhu Khola rafting approx. 5 hours Habitations dwindle, few poor Rai villages' enrooted, exciting rapids in the afternoon with good photo prospects.

Day 6: Harkapur village to Rai Ghat rafting approx. 6 hours Today is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the expedition encountering some very demanding rapids where you witness the skills of our guides, we pass through 'Bridge rapids' and 'Krishna rapids' stopping to carefully plan our strategy through the next rapids. Mr. Mangal Gurung was the first rafter to successfully take rafts in 1979 and he has the distinction of being the 1st Nepali to raft the Sunkoshi, it was a no mean success, hence, the rapid is named after him 'MANGAL RAPID'. Floating past the confluence of the Dudh Koshi, we hit the last rapid for the day, 'Roller Coaster' a hair rising rapid.
Day 7: Rai Ghat to Bander Ghat rafting approx. 6 hours Hold tight, the ride is not over yet.as past the point of Sap Su Khola is a rapid with the greatest drop Huge 'holes', 'eddies' and churning 'stopper waves' demands team work and hard paddle.
Day 8: Bander Ghat to Bonjur Ghat rafting aprox. 6 hours We take to the rapids again, busy all morning earnestly thanking for the lunch break, emerging from the Mardheku gorge the river spreads wide, less agitated after its confinement between steep cliffs and gorges.
Day 9: Bonjur Ghat to Barahchhatra rafting aprox. 6 hours today the whole stretch is a mixture of fun filled rapids and calm undulating floats, you are somewhat relived, yet sad that the trip is coming to an end, all good things ultimately does.
Day 10: Short rafting reaches out points Chatara, after lunch takes night bus to Kathmandu or drive to Biratnagar to take a flight back to Kathmandu. After a while we join the turbid waters of the Arun Koshi encountering our last rapids to the junction of the Tamur Koshi. The river changes its course from west -east to northeast through beautiful gorge floating to the white temple of Barahchhatra set upon the east bank. This is a Hindu temple dedicated to 12 different Hindu Gods and Goddesses; we stop to pay a visit. Suddenly we break through the Mahabharat and Rapcha ranges and spreading before us is a completely flat horizon, slowly we drift to Chatara. After Chatara we drive to Koshi Tappu or Chitwan National Park for an excellent Safari or drive back to Kathmandu or drive to Biratnagar for your fly back to Kathmandu.
