This hotel is pretty and its near the center of the city so it's very convenience to go out at night. It's also near Ben Thanh market, the ancient market of the city, most of tourists like to go there for shopping and buying present for friends or family. But remeber one thing, you should bargain with trader becoz they always push the cost too high.

Food are very good, Vietnamese Cuisine, And very nice decor, Its very good place for business dinner and romantic dinner its on the 1st floor of Fanny Ice cream :) tip: need to make reservation before, mostly full every night :) Its where Bradpit et Angie had diner before :)

Liberty restaurant is on Dong Khoi St., just opposite Sheraton hotel. It is a decent place to eat, enjoy the live sympothy band, candle-lit dinner, cosy atmosphere and gentle staff. The cost is reasonable and the food is nice. It is worth the value. Try it and you will feeling the same.

It's real historic building in town. Built in 1927 for M. Bainier during French colonial rule in Vietnam, the building started out as a two story auto dealership/garage complex called Bainier Auto Hall. The building showcased Citroen and other European cars. From 1959 to 1975, Mr. and Mrs. Ung Thi renovated the building into a 100 room Rex Complex hotel with three cinemas, a cafeteria, a dance hall and a library. The very first guests in the Rex Hotel in December 1961, while it was still in its final construction phase, were the 400 U.S.Army soldiers, 200 each of the 57th Transportation Company from Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wa. and of the 8th Transportation Company from Fort Bragg, N.C.They were the first company strength units to arrive in Saigon, each with 20 H-21 twin rotor "Shawnee" helicopters, on the USNS 'CORE" on December 11, 1961. They were billeted at the Rex for a week or so while their tents were being set up, at Tan Son Nhut, Saigon for the 57th and in Qui Nhon for the 8th. The Thanksgiving dinner, a few weeks after the actual holiday, was cooked in the field kitchens of the men on the roof top of the Rex. It was made famous and popular by American troops during the Vietnam War when its conference room hosted a daily press conference, by the MACV, derisively named The Five O'Clock Follies by cynical journalists who found the optimism of leading US military officers to be misguided. Its rooftop bar was a well known hangout spot for military officials and war correspondents. It's now remodeling at ground floor for hi-end shopping center in the corner of Nguyen Hue and Le Loi. Sit on top of it for fresh air and enjoy local food.

It is a nice place for couple or family stay. Although it is a little bit far from center but you can easily use Taxi to get there. Furthermore, there is car park for who has a car.About the security, the local area is so safe and friendly for foreigner. It is also comfortable for you to taste the local food near this hotel. There are Bun Bo, Banh Canh .... . And there is a church, swimming pool .... . I think it is worth to stay there with all service near your stay. You dont have to loose any time to find out except center shopping

Tao Dan park is in the centre of the city, it is well-know and has been there for a long time. It is a large and green space with trees, flowers and ornamental plants all over the place. You can hike, do some sport and activities or simply just take a rest there. On Lunar Year, it is the place for ornamental plants, florwers, bonsai and fish show.
