Hoi An, Quang Nam

9 Recommendations: 9 Favorable,

Welcome to Hoi An Ancient Town. Hoi An is an ideal place for travelers because of its unique beauty. Calm and peaceful river branches in slowly flown water, immense white sand beaches, rising to a coastal village afar. Everything is right in visitors’ vision. Hoi An is most graceful when lanterns are lighted along old streets.Upon the sunset, hundreds of silk lanterns emit light which are sufficient enough for visitors’ walking on sidewalks. Here and there in the street corners or on the sidewalks sat old-aged women by their food-selling bamboo frames whose baskets containe food and are surrounded by clients eating and talking excitedly. Visitors can obtain a fantastic relaxation while walking on Hoi An streets by night. Hoi An has been preserving cultural values which fascinate visitors to come, to explore and discover. All the things in town has been waiting for visitors’footsteps, even once.

Lăng Chủ Tịch Hồ Chí Minh

7 Recommendations: 6 Favorable, 1 Critical

This is the Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. Everyday I pass by this place to go to work. Looking at the flag in the wind, looking at the shape of building I always imagine my Uncle Ho is beside me. Entering this, you should find him in the glass box, look like he still alive. You also experience a lot of things about Vietnamese history and Ho Chi Minh's life.

Ho Chi Minh-Mausoleum

5 Recommendations: 5 Favorable,

At this square, at around 11am on 2 September 1945, a frail, gray-haired, wispy-bearded old man with a head seemingly too big for his neck, climbed onto a rickety wooden platform and paraphrased the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America to preface his proclamation of the newborn independence of Vietnam. Known by a bewildering number of noms de guerre, he was Ho Chi Minh. He's been living or "resting" hereabouts ever since. THIS is arguably the most hallowed ground in all of Vietnam. While devout Muslims try to undertake the Hajj at least once in their lifetimes, if able to, this Soviet-style architectural monstrosity is an equally powerful attraction for the Vietnamese people. Treat the place with respect, it is, after all, a grave ... although the old man actually gave instructions to be cremated!

Ho Chi Minh City

5 Recommendations: 5 Favorable,

Variously described as the "Paris of the East" for its many broad, tree-lined boulevards, or a grimy metropolis grinding out wealth, Saigon (as it is still called by virtually everybody ... except in official documents), is nothing if not a fascinating city. It is perhaps the only destination in Vietnam that really can offer "something for everybody", be it history, culture, nightlife, music & the arts, etc. A definite "must see" on any Vietnam tour.
