One of the best Zoo's in the Asian region and one of the oldest as well, this Zoo has a huge collection of Animals from Sri Lanka and the whole world. You name it they have it. The Elephant Dance/Circus held in the evenings are an added attraction and not to be missed.

Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia

Cinnamon Grand Hotel

Probably the Best Hotel in Colombo. Not cheap at all, but well worth the money. Has all the facilities for any discerning guest. Is situated quite close to downtown Fort and also within walking distance to the Galle Face Green. There is an adjoining shopping mall complete with Supermarket and Food Court.

The best of the New and the Old, that is what the Galle Face Hotel is about. If you are just visiting Colombo on Business, or going on a Tour around the Island, do not forget to stay at least one night at this lovely hotel. The Galle Face Green, right in front enhances the ambience.

Galleface Green

The Galle Face Green is a nice place to be in the Evenings. There is a lot of activities going on. The vendors are selling different types of spicy foods. Lots of families come with their children. Kites are flown overhead. Lovers meet and walk around hand in hand. People who are fitness minded can be seen walking briskly or jogging along. The sunsets are beautiful to watch.

Mutwal Fishing Harbour

Mutwal fishing Harbour is right next to the main Colombo Harbour and used mainly by the Fishing community. It has an ancient history, having been used by Arab Traders as well as the European Countries that eventually made their way here. Now the foreign fishing vessels are allowed to victualize here.

Kelaniya Temple, Gampaha

Kelaniya Temple is situated just outside of the Colombo City. It is a tranquil place to visit and venerated by Buddhists due to the fact that the Lord Buddha has visited this same spot in the past. Partly torn down by the Portugese, it still retains some of the original paintings as well as the paintings by the artist called Solis Mendis.

Kalutara is approx 40 km South of Colombo. The Kalutara Bodhiya and Temple takes pride of place. There are nice beaches around this area, and a number of good Hotels too. If you go inland, the village life as well as fauna and flora are visible too........
