Cinnamon Grand Hotel

Probably the Best Hotel in Colombo. Not cheap at all, but well worth the money. Has all the facilities for any discerning guest. Is situated quite close to downtown Fort and also within walking distance to the Galle Face Green. There is an adjoining shopping mall complete with Supermarket and Food Court.

Thick lush forest ! Gurgling streams all year round. Beautiful Butterflies and Birds. Dragonflies ! Snakes and insects too. The famous Pitcher plant ! Take care of the leeches. A year round attraction. Be ready to walk, walk and walk. You will not be disappointed !

Rumassala, Unawatuna

A beautiful place with many rare medicinal plants. Also the sea around rumassala contains some of the most beautiful corals of Sri Lanka. Though some of these was destroyed by the Tsunami, they seem to have recovered fast. The are though close to the Galle City, is quite well protected.

Galleface Green

The Galle Face Green is a nice place to be in the Evenings. There is a lot of activities going on. The vendors are selling different types of spicy foods. Lots of families come with their children. Kites are flown overhead. Lovers meet and walk around hand in hand. People who are fitness minded can be seen walking briskly or jogging along. The sunsets are beautiful to watch.

This is really beautiful place to visit and see. It is an ancient site, where Buddhism was first introduced to this Island. It has survived the latest war, which lasted almost 30 years. A serene and tranquil place, not to be missed at all. The views are stunning !

Fort, Galle

A must visit place. Dutch Buildings and impressive Fortifications. Taken over by the Dutch from the Portugese, then taken over by the British. Lots of small avenues. Some Mansion type buildings, churches, and a number of hotels too. Is a Heritage Site.
