Passeig de Gràcia

The house Lleó i Morera was raised by Lluís Domènech i Montaner in 1905 for Albert Lleó i Morera. Unfortunately, he lost the decoration of the floor during an unfortunate reform in 1943. In the sculptures of the first floor pays tribute to some modern inventions: the gramophone, the lamp, the phone and the camera.

Parc de la Ciutadella, Pg. Pujades/Pg. Picasso, 08003 Barcelona
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
Ciutadella is for locals what Central Park is for newyorkers. Specially busy in the weekends, people meet there to walk the dog, let the kids play, but also dance outdoors (swing, tango, salsa, belly...), row the little boats, practice taichi, juggle, sunbathe... The zoo and the Catalan parlament are also located inside the Park, that was once the headquarters of the 1888 International Fair.

Sagrada Familia

Definitely the MUST-SEE in Barcelona. After November 7th 2010, the inside has been completed and Pope Benedict himself came to dedicate the church. Since then, there are no more scaffolding inside and new decoration items (lamps, stain glasses...) are being added. Still 10 more towers are missing before it's completed (waht's expected to happen between 2026-2030). To avoid lines, buy tickets at least 2 days in advanced at any Servicaixa ATM (in La Caixa bank offices). Or hire a private tourguide to show you around (official tourguides can skip lines when their group is less than 8 people!). By all means, do not just see it from outside: the inside is so worth you'll regret it if you don't go in!

Parc de la Ciutadella
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
In the place of an old castle built at the beginning of XVIIIth century, this park is one of the most beautiful in Barcelona. Near the Born, the Barceloneta and Santa Maria del Mar. The best place to have a Sunday picnic or sailing in a little boat with your children.

La Boqueria
4 Recommendations: 3 Favorable, 1 Critical
My grandmother used to sell watermelons and melons in la Rambla, nearby the Boqueria. When she told me this story, it was the first time I heard about this market, the most famous in Barcelona. La Boqueria is one of the oldest markets in the city. The place was buzzing with activity when its actual location was just a field near the citywall. When you arrive in front of the market, instead of "La Boqueria" you can read St. Josep market. The location of the actual market was a cloister. Enjoy your visit and if you are lucky and find a place, do not hesitate to have lunch in there, is simply wonderful! See you in Barcelona! Anna http://www.barcelonina.com

Plaça de Sant Jaume
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
One of the most popular places un Barcelona is Sant Jaume Square, between the gotic town and the ramblas. In the same place there is the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona city hall. That place is also known because it appears in one of the most influent books of history: Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quijote de la Mancha.

Parc del Laberint d'Horta
2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,
Romantic garden in the uptown Barcelona. It was a private garden that became a public park. The best part is the little maze made out of cypress trees. It's big enough to kind of lose your way for a few minutes, but it's not big enough to get totally lost and spend the night there. There is a little entrance fee, but on Wednesdays the entrance is for free! It's only 5min walk from L3 Mundet subway station, and you are not likely to find many tourists there as it's quite out off the beaten path.

Second venue in town of the Renoir movie theater company. Halfway between the cult films of Verdi and the commercial Icaria, and more centric than its brother in Les Corts.
