namdaemun

4 Recommendations: 4 Favorable,

One of the last vestiges of a dissappearing cultural heritage... the traditional Korean market. The so-called modernization and cleanup of the market rob it of its biggest charms: the sweat and blood of the ordinary merchants. No better place to find the complete spectrum of authentic local culture than in a traditional market. Luckily the people remain the same even as the landscape changes....

Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel

3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,

The Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel is one of the top hotels in Seoul. It is located on the south side of Namsan (South Mountain) and provides both a fantastic view of the Han River on the south side of the hotel and a spectacular view of Namsan on its north side, including a view of the Seoul Tower which can be seen from almost anywhere in Seoul City. It is high a top a knoll on Namsan which allows it to be set off from the hubbub of the traffic and congestion on the streets below. Some might consider it a sort of hide away from other busier locations. But, many people appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the breath taking views from the hotel property. The hotel provides huge venues for hosting conventions, conferences, exhibits or any number of size gatherings. Catering for these events are one of the best features of their food and beverage operations. Parking is plentiful and is validated with your purchase or participation in a hosted event in the hotel. It has the Hyatt Hotels Grand Club® and 601 Luxurious rooms and Suites await the weary traveler, whether for tourists or business. Amenities abound with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice rink, spa, fitness center and numerous specialty shops located in the basement level. The lobby lounge is huge and will accommodate large groups for a meeting place prior to going elsewhere in the hotel. The hotel hosts several restaurants: Paris Grill Restaurant, and The Chinese Restaurant. And, J.J. Mahoneys Entertainment Center, located on the basement floor, is a landmark cocktail lounge where everyone is welcome. I highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel to anyone visiting Seoul.

TOM N TOMS COFFEE 로데오본점

3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,

Thruout the whole city, if see the coffee place, [Tom n Toms'], it means there's the place where you can have coffee or tea with free WIFI. Of course, they do have delicious snacks, too. Personally, the good thing is, they are having shops open 24 hours a day(not all, some of them close 2.00am) in 365 days a year, so you don't really have to worry about the time. If you want to know about where the closest branch is from where you are, I recommend you to visit this web site (their official web site). http://tomntoms.com/

이태원랜드

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

This form of Korean sauna is a wonderful way for families to enjoy themselves. And for the luckless, late-night reveler, these places offer a cheap and healthy alternative to a hotel to sleep off one's excesses. At the same time, in this part of Seoul, these venues have also served as gay pickup hot spots. So if you are a young foreign guy, and crash for the night, it would not be totally uncommon to find a young Korean male snuggled up to you in the morning.

Marriott Seoul

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

The Marriott Seoul provides 5 Star accommodations and is located in the APEX of the Bus terminal in Banpo-dong. It is located across the boulevard from the St. Mary's Hospital and adjacent to the Central City Shopping Complex. It has a huge parking underground facility as well as above ground parking for vehicles. It has convention facilities to accommodate large and small conventions, conferences and workshop scenarios. I have attended numerous events at the Marriott and can attest to the superior service by their executive officers and supporting staff. A visitor to Seoul will find all the amenities within the complex and/or in adjacent shopping facilities, including: Gym, Swimming Pool, Sauna and Solarium. Going from the Marriott into downtown Seoul only takes10 to 15 minutes (depending upon traffic hours). So, for the tourist or business person, the Marriott Seoul is an excellent choice for lodging and culinary needs.

HaeunDae beach

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

Haeundae is Busan's most popular beach destination. Located near the heart of the city this stretch is covered with Hotels, Casinos, and Bars. The nightlife is decidedly clubs and more electronic pubs, with an exception of the Rock and Roll bar which is very popular with the foriegn residents. Two seasons of beachable weather are observed at Haeundae: The parasol season and then every other day before or after the former that still has warm enough weather to go for a dip but not have the parasol option or lifeguards. The water at Haeundae is generally bath warm. The waves are present but not terrifying and many inflatable objects can either be purchased at a local vendors to play on. In the winter it has been likened to New England's Atlantic temperature in May, so a mid December dip is welcomed as Busanites host a very large polar bear event in February. As for something to do in Busan; it is a must see for its culture and importance to the city and its inhabitants.
