Intramuros, Manila

Intramuros is a Walled City within a city. During the Spanish occupation of the Philippines it was considered Manila itself. In Spanish Intramuros means "within the walls". At the end of world war 2 most of the walls were destroyed.In the 1980's the walls were reconstructed under the instructions of Imelda Marcos. Now it is a beautiful place where you can find the Manila Cathedral and other interesting buildings.

Fort Santiago

Fort Santiago (Walled City) has been the fortress of the Old Manila during the Spanish colonization during Baroque Period (1521 A.D.) which lasted for 333 years. Inside the wall are various cells/dungeons for Filipino Indios who rebel and fought against the Spanish regime. The ruins of Manila as well as preserved artifacts can be found inside the wall. There are dining areas and a picnic venues on its green park. There are also museums within and experience riding a Kalesa (Spanish term for wagon) while enjoying the fresh air even if it's situated in the heart of the city.

Earlier known as Bagumbayan Field, the Luneta Park is one of the leading historical places of the Philippines. nice place to bum around. you will see interesting people and stuffs and as you observe you will be able to peek at the Filipino cultures. great place for children to bring. you can have an introduction to history in the things they see. there are also theater shows for free in selected days and a botanical garden. just being in the place is something you can relish on. ;_)

There Cyberzone area on the 4th floor of Building B has a sprawling area dedicated to this need to be connected. Quiet and cozy especially on a hot day. Practicall some areas are free but slow so its best to be on the cyberzone area, you just have to pay extra to avail of the facility.
