Kathaa Range, Khushab, Pakistan

9 Recommendations: 9 Favorable,

Soon Sakesar Valley is famous for its serence beauty, mountainous terrain, heavy woodland, low temperature and cool and nice local inhabitants, dominated by Awans. If you move from Kallar Kihar towards Khusshab, you need to cross the mountains, that are referred to as Khatta Range. Kattha is a small town in the vicinity. The road is curling and presents pleasure drive. You remain on the mountains for more than 45 minutes and enjoy the landscap when you cross the top and start descending towards Khushab / Jauharabad. This is a nice day-out trip for those who love to explore Pakistan. For all those who are in KAllar Kihar for a family picnic trip, can plan to extend their journey upto Khushab to experience this lovely area. Strongly recommended for family fun, tourists and foreigners planning to spend their week-end out of thier abodes in Islamabad. ONE full day activity, without a sturdy vehicle, TAke-Away food (snacks, etc.). Navigation to the area is easy, so no need to engage a Guide or arrange for security measures.

9 Recommendations: 9 Favorable,

Kalabagh, a town of District Mianwali, Pakistan, is located on the western bank of Indus River. Kalabagh is a blend word comprising Kallra, a Hindu Tribe and Baghoo, The sun god whose temple was erected on the top of the mountain.Kallra Hindus came of Kauroo tribes. After arrival of Islam, it was captured by Kambho, Lodhi Afghan, Khemat, Gahroo Tribes, so on and so forth. Alexander the Great, captured this area for sake of salt. Salt was being excavated by Hindu tribes before invasion of Greeks. The naming clearly is of Turkish and Persian origin, meaning "Black Garden", Trans-literature of words cannot obliterate footprints of ancient tribes and historicity and reality cannot be suppressed by any means. Kalabagh will remain conspicuous among all chapters of history and the temple is homologous to grandeur of human heritage. This legendary temple belongs to Hindus. Kalabagh is a state ruled by the Nawabs of Kalabagh. They have ruled this area since the time of Mahmud of Ghazni, i.e. around 900 years. Kalabagh remained a princely state throughout the British Raj. Upon Pakistan coming into being, Kalabagh State merged into State of Pakistan. This is a small town on the banks of River Indus, with rich history and culture. If you are interested in expedition of inner Pakistan, I would strongly recommend you to plan a visit to this place. Conducted tour with exclusive local guide is a requirement. A 4X4 Jeep would add value to your tour.

Uchalli Lake

1 Recommendations: 1 Favorable,

Ucchali Lake: Tucked in the southern periphery of the Salt Range and hemmed in by its higher cliffs, is a cluster of natural lakes — Ucchali, Khabbeki and Jhallar in district Khushab. These lakes are said to be 400 years old, maybe more. The lakes are a prime sanctuary for the migratory birds and were declared a protected sanctuary for the native and migratory avifauna on the appeal of World Wildlife Fund. Nestled at about 800 meters above the sea, lakes have some marsh vegetation and are mostly surrounded by cultivated land, which is picturesquely intersected by hillocks. The lakes are fed by the spring, seepage from adjacent areas, and run off from the neighbouring hills of the historic Salt Range. The lakes are one of the most important wintering areas for the rare white-headed ducks (Oxyura leucocephala) in Pakistan that comes here from Central Asia. Locals believe that there is a volcano hidden beneath the surface of the Ucchali Lake due to which the colour of the water keeps changing. The appearance of a vert broad and brightly coloured rainbow in 1982 for consecutive 15 days is also attributed to this analogy. in 1982, a strange phenomenon was observed in the villages Ucchali and Dhadhar. The lakes’ water is also said to cure gout and skin diseases. People have been taking the water from the lakes as far as Lahore and Karachi. People think that a pure white winged creature called Great egret, from Grus family, found in the area is a symbol of longevity.
