Domaine Anna
4 Recommendations: 4 Favorable,
Since its opening in December 2002, Domaine Anna charms and enchants its clientele. The self-taught visionary Hang Leung Pah Hang has designed and made this splendid venue of great gastronomy where conviviality and peacefulness mix with each other. It’s a magical place that blends pleasure, taste and festive ambiance and absolute serenity. In 2005, the International Federation of Tourism has decorated this “paradise for gourmets” for its excellence and gastronomy by bestowing to it the Trophy of the Baguette d’Or. Food can be served in the main area of the restaurant but also under the specially built veranda or finally in the garden under the typical kiosks above the ponds. At night the reflections of the torches that shimmer in the water exhale a magical and unique atmosphere in Mauritius. On Friday and Saturday nights, music is played by talented local artists who entertain the guests. Prices are genuinely very affordable and nothing compared to the quality and standard provided – subtle gastronomy, unbelievable setting and renowned service. Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday 11.30am – 02.30pm and 06.30pm – 10.30pm Closed on Monday

Trou aux Cerfs Krater
4 Recommendations: 4 Favorable,
Possibly the main attraction of Curepipe for tourists, apart from the shopping, is the Trou aux Cerfs crater. It's been extinct for a long time and the crater floor is now heavily wooded, but the crater affords lovely views around the island. A tarred road leads gently up to and around the rim. There are benches for rest and reflection, and a radar station for keeping an electronic eye on cyclone activity.

Chamarel
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
The seven colored earth is found in an open area of soil and its world known uniqueness is that it consists of a spectrum of 7 different colors ranging from yellow, brown through red to violet that form a breathtaking pattern over the landscape. When mixed the colors tend to separate back into different layers. This phenomenon is due to the presence of volcanic ashes containing mineral oxides of different colors. You can admire a 100 m high Chamarel waterfall from the top of a platform.

South Mauritius
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
A highlight of any visit to Mauritius will be taking in the relatively undeveloped south of the island, which includes some of the country’s most wonderful scenery and wildest landscapes. While the area around Blue Bay has been a long-established favourite with tourists for its great beaches and crystal-clear waters, the majority of the south coast has no beach, thankfully limiting hotel construction for the most part. One big recent development was the building of three huge luxury hotels on the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre. This was followed in 2006 by the opening of another big luxury hotel in the nearby hamlet of St Felix, all of which will of course contribute to the area’s economy, but, many fear, will also mean Mauritius’ most unspoiled corner will gradually become more and more like the rest of the island. For now though, the area is the most ‘Mauritian’ in the country and the drive along the coastal road from Souillac to Le Morne really shouldn’t be missed. Other highlights include the typically sleepy town of Mahébourg, the wonderful nature reserve Île aux Aigrettes and imposing Lion Mountain, which dominates the region.
