There are no camping places assign in Portoviejo. You can go ahead and adventure yourself camping into wild areas just like the biggest mountain in manabi, whichi is 15 minutes away from Portoviejo, this mountain is called Cerro de Jaboncillo and it has many places to go camping although they are destined areas for it. Being a good boy scout can get the emotion and excitment going for those of us who love to camp. The next best location is the beach of crucita, same here, there are no especific areas assign for camping, but there is always plenty of beach and areas where you might ask the local resident to keep an eye on you while you enjoy a piece of natureland out on the beach. I have done it and many others as well have adventured.

Within the beach area, there is an area called "Malecon Escenico", which is a pedestrian walkway filled with restaurants, shops and open spaces for local artists to display their work, shows, or events. The restaurants offer a varied selection of tasty food. Main courses range from $4-10, and the seafood is remarkable.

Nice mid-size shopping mall, A/C, food court w/wi-fi access, multi cinema, play zone, photo stores, apparel boutiques, food & hardware & clothing hyper market, pets store, dry cleaners, ATM's, etc. The safest place to buy in town as it has safety guards all around, easy to get in there by taxi or bus, free private parking lot if you drive your own vehicle, it opens everyday even on holidays, a good choice just for a visit or for good shopping.
