The Fontana Resort is situated on the wooded hillside of the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar, directly facing beach. The center of town is about 550 yards away. You have free access to its fitness center and there are 2 outdoor swimming pools with seawater (one for children). Deck chairs and sun umbrellas are free of charge. From the pool bar you have beautiful views over the Adriatic sea and you can have an eye on your children in the pool. There are 2 tennis courts open during the high season, you can take part in entertainment programs and an internet corner is at your disposal as well. On the island of Hvar the main activity is agriculture which can be seen by the large lavender and rosemary fields and the extensive olive, lemon and orange plantations. Hotel Rooms: 349.

Hotel Pharos

Accommodation in Hvar is really expensive. Espesially if you`re a family of 4. It is very hard to find familyrooms and then you`ll need 2 rooms which of course makes it twice as expencive!!!. We decided to take a chance on Hotel Pharos as we were provided with a family room at a reasonable rate and it even had a swimmingpool which is very important to the kids. We were accually really impressed once we arrived. The reception and the other public indoor areas could absolutely do with a TOTAL makeover, but the poolarea was really nice. We were also given a really big and clean family room with a very spacious and totally refurbished bathroom. Very nice!! The location was fabaolous!! Took us about 3 minutes to walk down to the Hvar town which is truely amazingly beautiful!! We new about the noice from the nightclub in advance. This did not scare us though as we are good sleepers. What we did not know in advance though, was that the sleeping sofa which me and my husbond slept in was very old and fragile. The first night went OK but In the middle of the second night it accually broke down and we had to get up and fix it several times. This combined with the lack of aircondition and the VERY loud music from the nightclub was horrible!!! We found the breakfast to be very good! The variety was not the greatest we ever saw but we had all we needed + some and the service was very good!!
