Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral

Shishi Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral was laid on June 18,1863,the day of the Feast of the Sacred Heart ,so it is called the Sacred Heart Cathedral .Because the cathedral was built with granite stone ,it is also called "shishi"(Stone House) Cathedral. It was finished in 1888.It covers an area of 2,754 square meters.It is tall and straight ,with spacious interior space ,exquisite technique,high-rise towers,huge columns and beams,vaulted roofs and stained glass.It is the only well preserved "Gothic style" Cathedral built of granites in Southeast Aisa, combining the medieval Gothic architectural feature with Chinese traditional techniques.It is of great historical ,architectural and artisic values and is well-known all over Southeast Asia. I lived there for almost a week. There is a scent filled in the hall and I can't name it. Everything is very traditional Chinese. The hotel waitresses wore clothing from Han Dynasty and the rooms are decorated in traditional Chinese style. Sometime there is some musician playing someancient musical in the hall, slow and makes you feel comfortable. There is a cantee in the 2rd floor with Western food and a cantee in the first floor which serves Chinese food, and to be specific, Canton food. I like the breakfast, and the variety of the buffet there.

It is on the riverband of the Pearl River, romantic setting, and serves French food. At night you can watch French movies in the hall or eat outside of the Cantee and get cooled down by the breeze. Food is satisfactory but you need to remind the waiter/waitress if there happens to be a lot of customers.

This is the bar with football topic.Near the Opera House in Guangzhou.There are two big screans to watch football, two floors. There is one slogar table on the second floor. Many Europeans visit there to drink beer and chat with their friends. If you want more quiet, you can sit outdoor. What't more, price of the drinks and snacks and main food are not expensive,around 20-60RMB.
