Cajón del Maipo
5 Recommendations: 5 Favorable,
It´s a wonderful place to go to once you are in Santiago. From Hostal de la Barra (www.hostaldelabarra.cl) you have 70 km and can get there by public transport. At Hostal de la Barra (www.hostaldelabarra.cl) they have a nice bed & breakfast in San Gabriel where you can stay for free if you are staying at Hostal de la Barra (www.hostaldelabarra.cl) for a week.

Palacio de La Moneda
4 Recommendations: 4 Favorable,
The Palacio de la Moneda (the Palace of the Coin or Mint Palace, as it is the place where coins were originally minted), is the traditional site where Chilean Presidents - and their closer staff - work, and where they lived until the 1950's. It is located right in the center of the city. Although the architecture is traditional, it has been renovated and modernized in the last years. Every two days you can watch the traditional changing of the Palace Guards, a main tourist attraction. A large and modern Art Center, with a varied offer of traditional Chilean handicrafts, now functions in an underground area, right in front of the Palacio de la Moneda. I highly recommend you to visit both, but I believe you must be on site to really enjoy all there is to learn on these interesting places.

Bigas Restobar
3 Recommendations: 3 Favorable,
This is a nice place to enjoy a good glass of wine with a nice spanish omelet or any of the mediterranean plates Bigas has to offer. But, definitelty, the one thing you can´t miss in this place, is their amazing Sangria, a drink you can share with your friends or date. What´s also so enjoyable about Bigas is that, along with a very good service, you can either be indoors or outdoors and you will like it either way.
