Old windmill in operation

Nice old mill, still working with a miller that tells you all about it. It's about 150 years old and located near the canal. Across the mill is a café where you can have an icecream or pancakes. So, nice for a day out. Definitely go by bike, nice area to cycle.

Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen (MUHKA)

The MUHKA is a nice art museum with the various collection of art. If you like art museums then you'll probablly like this place. My experience begins with a very touching video by Amal Kenawy - Stop-You'll be killed and impressive & originally witty Vorobyev's 'Bazaar'. And you should not miss the unique Gillick and Weiner’s 'horizontal' section called 'Syntax of Dependency”. After all enjoy a coffee on the sunny roof terrace ;-)

The restaurants offer great, simpel food from (a Belgian) grandmothers kitchen. It's no haute cuisine but very down to earth dishes. It has a very casual atmosphere with a homely friendly service. Food is served pretty fast, even when the restaurant is full.

This is a student bar with a great atmosphere, good beer, nice terrace. Frrom monday 'till thursday, there are student nights with different student associaten, which means good vibes and great music (it's a dance bar) and sometimes discounts and special theme parties. In the weekend you might find some older people there and erasmus students. Check it ou!

This is a hairsalon with a very good vibe! The owner and staff put you in an instant happy mode, because of their characters. They provide nice haircuts, like you want your hair to be done, and this for a very reasonable price! It is outside the city center but easily reachable by public trfansport and car.

nice place and very good food. Along the river (Schelde). Very nice atmosphere during the summer with nice sunset. Romantic break .... close to the city center and the famous castle along the river (Steen) gving the origin of the name of 'Antwerpen' (Hand - werpen)

very good music, nice bands coming over... most of the time quite crowded but very good atmosphere... worthwhile bar with 2 floors, from the uppest floor you can see the bands playing and singing i love this place and it's quite popular in Antwerp. for sure i recommend this bar!

This snack-restaurant is situated in a really nice building, with a beautiful glass house, which makes it very nice to sit there in the winter, with a wintersun shining trough the windows. They offer all sorts of soups (you can also take a trio) and some small snacks. Very reasonable prices, nice service!

At Tilly's they make sandwiches with really original spreads, very nice soups and sweets. Furthermore there is a great ambiance, great vibe, powerful colours in the decoration. This place is maily focused on students, so mostly it's take away food, but you can also sit down and eat your meal there. Really worth your visit!
