Best Western Hotel West

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

This a very good four star hotel, set in the middle of the Bratislava National Park. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and although most speak English, they must to get the four star rating, we found a few that speak German too! Great place for hiking all around the hotel with a chair lift and a ski lift nearby, or take the number 203 bus into the city center and just walk around!

Schönbrunn Palace

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

This is a not to be missed attraction in vienna. You get some insight into the mind of Marie Antoinette's family and how the way they lived affected her. It's a gorgeous palace with a huge area to explore. Beautiful fountains, walks, tree-lined sidewalks to enjoy the day.

Haus des Meeres, 1060 Vienna

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

The "house of the sea" is located very close to the mariahilfer straße, a very busy shopping street in the heart of vienna. The tower was built in the second world war for Anti Air cannons is due to its location and massiveness hard to destruct. The massive tower contains several aquariums and terrariums making it easy to explore a more "exotic" fauna and flora then you can find in austria itself. The house of the sea is an ideal location to spend rainy days and still explore some of the nicest sites in vienna.

Govinda

2 Recommendations: 2 Favorable,

This is a great Vegatarian Restaurant found on the Shopping Street in the centre of Bratislava. I was there and the curry was good and, even though there are only a few options, you can eat as much as you want for about £3.50. We were a bit confused about what was included in the all-you-can-eat deal so ask before you order. There is a sign for the restaurant in the street, you walk down the alley and it's down the stairs. Ask me if you need more advice ;-)

Wien-Hietzing Tram Stop

1 Recommendations: 1 Favorable,

If you take the U4 U-Bahn from Karlsplatz, go in the direction of Hütteldorf. You get off at the the stop called Hietzing. If you go around back of the station upstairs, you will notice a stop for the Nr 60 Tram. It takes you in the direction of the 23rd district, the very south of Vienna - and a ride to the end station called Rodaun takes about 25 mins. It is a very beautiful ride & reveals a much less urban part of Vienna. When get off in the end, there's lots of park-like locales for easy walking or hiking. ( This recommendation applies to Spring through Autumn - not later than Oct 15th though )

Glacis Beisl

1 Recommendations: 1 Favorable,

A recently remodeled Restaurant/Bar that's quite convenient to the Museumsquartier ( Where the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Kunsthalle, and Stiftung Leopold is located ), located on a hill above and behind the museums. A great place to go with groups or a romantic date...this place has lots of history and atmosphere ( at least, it did in 1997 when I had my opening party for 25 up there ).

St. Stephen's Cathedral

1 Recommendations: 1 Favorable,

This is Austria's greatest gothic cathedral. It's in the heart of Vienna and is undoubtedly one of THE most popular touristic destinations. Around Christmastime are choral concerts for which tickets may be purchased through local ticket agencies. You might want to climb a special staircase of 800 or so steps to go up to the pinnacle of the spire, which towers above the city.
