Hello!! There are so many beautiful places in Croatia. If you like nature island of Mljet is really beautiful. Part of the island is a national park with two beautiful lakes on the island. You can spend time in the nature and there is also a camp on the island (not in the national park itself). Then Plitice lakes is another beautiful national park with sixteen lakes and waterfalls. Amazing nature. It's in inland Croatia. There are few rivers were you can do rafting like Krka (also national park), Cetina...
I hope this helps at least a bit.

Near Šibenik there is a camp Solaris.Surroundings is beautifully arranged. You can visit a national park Krka. One of the best ways to see Krka is to take a boat ride organized by agency.Closeness to the National Park Krka and the National Park Kornati, rich Mediterranean vegetation, sports and entertainment facilities and a la carte speciality are going to make your holiday unforgettable.Around Šibenik you have many small and very beautyfull islands like Žirje,Murter,Zlarin etc.I hope you vill enjoy in Dalmacia.

Dear Sandra,

To do the rafting recommend you to go to Krka or Zrmanja river.Cetina river near Omis is Ok too but till the midlle of may. Later on the water is too still (been there last year) while on the other two rivers there is greater possibility to get some adrenalin rushing trough your veins later in the summer. In case there wouldn't be so much rain before the period you would do your trip there will still be a possibility for some canoeing there. Visiting one of those too rivers you will visit either a Krka or Paklenica national park. Both offer climbing,hiking,cycling...
As you surely know camping in the national park is forbidden but luckily there are camping sites just in the vicinity of them. Since sea is not to far away from these two nature wonders visiting the islands can be fitted in the schedule without losing much time. Now which one is the best..perhaps after nature wilderness its time to do some relaxation by dancing all night long..islands Pag, Rab, Hvar, Brac....
Have fun organizing your trip

I would just add hiking if you're intrested. I love Biokovo, 1762m up to the top called St. Jure. There are organised day trips, or if you feel more advantures, you can get a friend and in couple of hours hike up to Vosac, which is lower part of the mountain, but has a view of Makarska and more, and Islands too. You can get some great pictures. Have a nice trip!

Come to visit Rovinj in Istra. Not far away there are Brijuni islands - famous national park. In Rovinj you'll find very popular climbing cliffs with an excellent position nearby the sea.Area is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, canoenig, rafting riding...In front of the town are spread 22 small uninhabitant islands...two of them are well connected with regular boat line. Nature is stunning, and I'm sure you'll enjoy here. Contact me if you are going to visit us here this year. I'll be more than happy to help you and provide you with more information. Regards :)

Hi,

In my opinion, Omiš should be your base. It's a small city with nice camp just on the outskirts. Also, there are inexpensive hotels and private accomodation, as well. Omiš is known for sports: fre climbing, rafting, canoeing and canyoning in river Cetina canyon. There is even a take-off spot for paragliding. Located just 25 km South of Split, it's a good base to avoid summer hustle. If you are plannig to come off season I would recommend a clim to the top of Mosor mountain or to Saint George (Sv. Jure) top of mountain Bikovo, near Makarska (35 km south of Omiš). Split is very nice to visit and from Split I would recommend speed boat line (hydrofoil or katamatan) to Bol on island Brač. While visiting Brač, a definite must is Blaca desert. Another must is Hvar city on island Hvar with the first public theatre in Europe! No need to praise the bars and beaches there, see for yourself. Dubrovnik is 2 and 1/2 hrs drive to South, national park Krka with famous waterfalls is 1 and 1/2 hrs to the North-West from Omiš. Did I mention that, wherever you go, the nature is breathtaking?

I live in brela, that is close to Omis. I agree it should be your base. There is so many of the activities that you want to do that are based there. One word of advice, you need to organize before you come as things are busy.
