It is Liszt Ferenc Square as for bars, regarding the dance clubs I would suggest the follows: Rio Cafe, Zold Pardon, and Studio on the Hajogyari Sziget. I hope you will like them all.

It depends on what kind of music do you like or what kind of place are you looking for.
but I would suggest Zöld Pardon (www.zp.hu), A38Ship (www.a38.hu), Rio (www.rio.hu) or Dokk Café (www.dokkcafe.hu) or the Moulin Rouge (www.moulinrouge.hu)is also good.

It pretty much depends on what style of music and places do you prefer...?
If the weather is good, I would recommend Cha-Cha-Cha and Holdudvar on Margaret-Island, with open-air bar and partly opened dancefloor.
But there are so many options, so if you write me your preferences, I will tell you more...

If you pick up a free weekly guide, Pesti Est, Exit, etc, you will find more info on the bars in English, as well. Otherwise not knowing your taste in music/decor it is hard to say which ones are the best for you.
Or you may also go to RĂĄday street, full of bars and pubs, and pick one to your taste.

Hi Vinay, as there are many bars and clubs to choose from in Budapest I would suggest having a look at the following sites: http://www.worldsbestbars.com/city/budapest/index.htm
http://www.talkingcities.co.uk/budapest_pages/entertainment_nightlife.htm
This way you can decide which style best suits you, before you go out on the town! Hope this helps :)

Hi,
depends on what kind of music you like. The most popular places for young people are "zöld Pardon", Rio, Romkert, The places in Margharet ISland (Chachacha; Holdudvar), the places in Hajogyari Island and now a new one will open near to our National Theatre called Placc. These are all open area places what i am offering you in this time. Foreign people likes also Irish Cat, Old Man's Pub, Alkatraz, Mammut...these are mostly pubs.
There are also nice places in List Feremc square, but most of the reasturants, but i am offering:)
have a nice time here:)

Hello Vinay,
First of all, I hope you will have a really good time during your stay in Budapest!
If you are looking for a place during the week (e.g.: Wednesday-Thursday) I would highly recommend Romkert. It is very crowded on the weekends therefore very challenging to even get near to the bar, not alone to get a drink - but very enjoyable during weekdays: still quite a lot of people, good music, nice crowd.
As a starter I would also recommend Instant, which is a good place to get ready for the night and is highly popular amongst all ages and all nationalities.
For weekends (Friday/Saturday nights) I would also recommend ChaChaCha and Holdudvar on Margitsziget, like the others before me.
This is summertime, better start exploring the open areas :-)
All other places mentioned above are good, but Zold Pardon, Rio etc are rather for the younger ages - whilst I represented rather for the 25-35 area ;)
Have fun!
Best wishes,
Adrienn

Even though almost everyone suggests Liszt Ferenc tér and other touristic places, I would drive you somewhere else, places that are not full of strangers but where you can feel the local atmosphere :)
These are the following: Szimpla kert in Kazinczy utca, quite a cheap bar in the centre, close to Astoria and the Synagogue. Margitsziget with Cha Cha Cha and Holdudvar (by tram 4,6), you can try Romkert az Erzsébet bridge but it will be crowded so you won't be able to move or get a drink... If you like techno, house or R'n'B, go to Hajógyåri sziget, another island. You can get there by taxi only and it's quite far away but worth it! there are at least 5 different clubs next to each other.
always buy a ticket (there is a Budapest Pass) if you use public transport and make sure your ticket is valid otherwie you'll find yourself in trouble quite easily.
Hope I could help, wish you a nice stay.

If you like fancy places, you can go to Creol, Lavan (ex-white heaven), Studio, Dokk Café, Mouling Rouge, Symbol. Less fancy places: Romkert, Jam Pub or other clubs in Mammut Shopping Mall. For 'alternative' places : Cha-cha-cha, Gödör, Holdudvar, Instant, Szimplakert. 'Old school' places: Irish Cat Pub, Morrisons, Cactus Juice Pub... etc.

go to the Marylin Table Dance Bar at Kalvin square if you like streaptease:) You cannot dance there (the girls are dancing:), and a bit of expensive, but I swear it worth it. No entrance fee, but the beer is 3 times more expensive than in other clubs.

Hello,
You can visit the updated/newly changed Retro/Caribbean-theme disco at the building of the Nyugati(western) train station(=palyaudvar).
The other nice place is the Raday walking/pedestrian street at Kalvin square with more than 30cafes and restaurants from hungarian or international style to Shiraz/persian style..
