Hi,
What do you need to visit St.Pete and Moscow in October :
Warm Jacket
Jeans
Comfortable and warm footwear ( may be snikers) for long walking
Glowes
Hat ( or you may buy it here " with red star " :)))
Umbrella
in case you are planning to visit the Russian Ballet it is good you will have something special for that event ( it is not becessary to have a black tie)
And please do not forget your camera :)))

You'd better take a pair of warm sweaters and a jacket or a coat, jeans, and some t-shirts just for warm weather if there will be any. Wear something warm, it is likely to be about 0 degrees but you do not need anything special, just lots of it.

Umbrella for sure, warm outfit and warm waterproof footwear. Dress in layers to protect yourself from the cold wind. Fetch a pair of gloves and a hat.
