Oh, Well that depends...
If you're into walking and sightseeing by day and eating at good restaurants and maybe seeing a show or going to an art galery, or just having a glass of wine and enjoy a good conversation well Antigua is the place for you.
Hotel Casa Santo Domingo is one of the best hotels there, but there are many boutique hotels that can give you a great atmosphere of peace and privacy.
Now, if you're into parties and nightlife, well you should go to lake Atitlan, it's beautiful great nightlife. Theres an hotel called Casa Palopo not to far away from town. Real nice.
Antigua also has great nightlife, but it also has many other things to offer.
Atitlan is more about nature

Antigua and Panajachel have lots to offer, but also lots of visitors this time of year. If you want to get off the beaten path, there's a small beach hotel on the Pacific coast run by a French couple, I think the name is Isla Gaia or something like that, which means "earth island". If you want exhuberant tropical vegetation and volcanoes in a quiet setting, we can welcome you at our coffee farm in San Felipe, Retalhuleu www.fincasantaelena.com . However, all our beds are single. The next door farm has a nice hotel, Hotel Bungalows El Jardín, with a nice cafeteria with volcano view. Up the road are hot springs in lush valleys and the classical city of Quetzaltenango and surrounding indian villages. All this is at least 4 hours west of the capital. If you like the idea of coffee farms as a place to stay, there are many options. See REVUE Magazine or call ANACAFE, the National Coffee Association.

for something as a honey moon i think the most romantic thing it would be HOTEL CASA SANTO DOMINGO at Antigua Guatemala, also you could try something more tropical in Amatique Bay, is really nice and many fun things to do, with a beautiful weather and an incredible lake at Izabal or you could visit SANTA ELENA, Peten, that is an island in the middle of the Lake with many great hotels and it would be a great experience! Congrats on the wedding! and have a good time in Guatemala! :)

I think that for a just married couple definitely Antigua Guatemala is the best place. Is a colonial city and its really pretty, with lots of stuff to do.
If you want your hotel experience to be as romantic as it can be, you should definitely stay at El Convento Boutique Hotel, that place is awesome!! but there's a lot of other hotels around... for all budgets.. You can walk trough Antigua and find tours to everywhere.. and they are not that expensive.. So.. Antigua is the best option for you.
You can check this page.. It has El Convento Hotel pictures.. http://www.luxehotels.com/hotels/ElConvento
So, I hope my information was good for you and congratulations on your wedding...

I guess everybody agrees in suggesting Antigua Guatemala and Panajachel. These two places are a must for honeymooners. You can make hotel arrangements for both places through the Internet. Also, you can go to Antigua and make economic arrangements with tourism agents who can take you to Panajachel in case you are not renting a car. Enjoy your visit to our beautiful country. All year long is a good time to visit.

I believe that March is over. Antigua Guatemala hotels have high-end for their honeymoon, if you want it with roses and champagne, anything is possible depends on what you can afford.

You definitely should go to Antigua... there are beautiful hotels and places in a very, very special and romantic environment. After dinner go walk trough the village or go to the park and take a tour in a carriage pulled by horses.
Atitlan is a must. If you like mountains, you can go to Cuchumatanes in Huehuetenango, for example to "Unicornio azul"

I would have to say Antigua Guatemala, Hotel Casa Santo Domingo,, and In Panajachel, Posada de Don Rodrigo. There is Tikal also, and in Lago de Isabal, Hotel Deniss Beach is a very private and romantic option.

Depending on how long are you planning to stay in Guatemala there are many places that you can visit. Also you need to decide what would you like to do and see because we have a little bit of everything. If your bride likes sightseeing and culture you could go to Atitlán. In Atitlán try to stay in towns such as San Juan la Laguna, San Lucas Tolimán, or the Palopos to have a peaceful stay; now if you like nightlife stay in Panajachel or in San Pedro la Laguna.
In Santa CAtalina Palopó you could stay in Casa Palopó hotel, in San Antonio Palopó you could stay in las Terrazas del Lago.
If you go to Antigua, there's a place called Finca Filadelfia. There are coffee tours, horsebackriding, canopy, great food and hotel. There are many options you could choose from but depending on your schedule, plans and interests you could choose many places.
Greetings and congrats on your wedding.

It will all depend on your budget and visit time frame. You can visit for about $450 per person all iconic touristic areas in Guatemala is basic low cost travel mode, upto $3,575 per person (which is not that expensive considering all the ammenities and activities included, not to mention the boutique and 5 star hotels) for a 10 day tour around Guatemala. yeah!!!!! Hotel Casa Santo Domingo! the best for the honeymoon!! and it tries to reserve already because for example I was the past weekend and dont had any single room since as the hotel is five stars there is a convention center and always have events. For being high season that cost a good room to you about $225. see the web http://www.casasantodomingo.com.gt
