Hello! Can anyone help me with some info about campings at Ohrid lake:locations, sanitation facilities,opportunies, general conditions?

I would like to spend a few days at Ohrid lake , and in a camping with a medium size tent. I've read some oppinions about Ljubaniste and Gradiste camp sites, but it seems to be quite old info. and unfortunatly I haven't found any site giving more details. thanks in advance!!

You can choose either Ljubaniste or Gradiste. My personal favorite is Gradiste. There is a beachfront part reserved for tents, under a pine shades and it is a quite relaxing to be there. It is a "trendy" beach with a nice summer programs. The camping there is more intimate then in Ljubanista. It is some 10 km from the center of Ohrid. You will not find any details on the web, so just follow the local advices and the road signs. When entering Ohrid, just continue through the city and exit on the opposite side. If you need some additional help, feel free to write on the dragancvetkovski@hotmail.com. I have some close friends there, who will be more than happy to give honest help. For food related questions, check the restaurant called "Papu", close to the "Bazaar" in the city of Ohrid. It will give you the right picture for how our food tastes.

Well ur on the right place... I have a contact of Camp owner in Gradiste camp site and I`m rent it to in the summer. The camp has accommodation for four people or two and it is just a step of the lake ;)- If you want or you are interested in it I can give you telephone contact of the owner and you just go to the place and have a key u can rent it for how many days u want and the price for a day is 15E. I would like to tell u more that on 26th there will be a BIG 24 hour party on the beach with Dj`s from Europe and and Macedonia to. you can write me here or better on my mail- daniel_123mk@yahoo.com

Here's a tip from a local guy: If you really want to have an uninterrupted peaceful experience in Ohrid, forget about the fancy names everybody knows. There's a "forgotten" camping site just 5km off Ohrid, it's called Izvidnicki Centar, right next to Hotel Daljan, which is a scout's paradise as people say. I've been at the beach, it's very OK, peaceful, close to Ohrid, it has a showers and WC facility and prices will be much cheaper than what you'll find at the more famous locations. If you're coming from Skopje (or Tetovo or Kicevo) this resort is basically before you get into the town. If you come by bus, the taxi ride from the bus stop to hotel Daljan should not be more than $4. I'm fed up with the noise and crowds on the popular beaches so for a real vegging time I go to this place.

Well, Ljubanishte and Gradishte are the best camps for spending time by the like. Both of them are just fine. Gradishte is nearer to the "fancy" beaches, parties, DJs etc. But, Ljubanishte is also great, golden sand beach, calmer, Near to a village and the greatest monastery in the city. The choice is yours

First and foremost, I cheer your idea about visiting the oldest, largest and deepest sweet-water lake in Europe.
Now as far as Gradishte and Ljubanishta go, both camps are excellent choices. Both camps have tent plots you can rent, the prices are beyond reasonable :)
One of the the many things you would like to consider is how would ou like to spend your days there? If you want laid back vacation with the only noise being the wind blowing and the waves hitting the shore, than I would suggest Ljubanishta. If you want parties and a lot of people, then you better go for Gradishte!
If you are a true camper, I wold highly recommend that you choose Ljubanista, the crowd is there as I type this :) The only down side to this camp would be the distance from the city. Gradiste is aprox. 14km from Ohrid, and ljubanishta is 27km.
Both have joined sanit. facilities (in the Yugoslavian era they thought that men and women should share a building, but the bathrooms are separate for men, separate for women), hot water is produced via solar collectors. The conditions in both camps are really good. They both have general stores on campus.

well, this is the thing, if you like big camp place and a lot of people and music, parties, DJ's, and from that kind, Gradiste is a good place for that, Ljubaniste also, and the beach is beautiful, but if you like quiet place, with not many people, and no parties and DJ's, if i were you i would go in TRPEJCA, that is not a camp, it is a small village, but there is a few private camps for 1-4 people, and it is located on the beach. the all place in Ohrid is very beautiful ,Ljubaniste have very beautiful beach and the air is clean there.You can go on Sileks beach if you are young for party is very good ,and the sv.Naum have a good beach .But if you look for a fun go to the lLagadin or Sileks beach .With like

Camp As would be a perfect choice for you. Its between Struga and Ohrid and very popular for this time of the year
