hey !
it's easy !
u can take the train...
if u don't want to , then y may take the bus ! but u ll have to walk some meters , because the station is not 100% in lagoulette, it is in it's left side
so i recommend you to take the train !
and when y get to the station in tunis (center ), ull have to walk about 10 min to get to the souk and medina
and wheny walking ull be exploring the city !
welcome in tunisia =)

Dont worry plenty of cabs will b waiting just outside the port they know you are coming , its a 20 minutes ride to the city centre which is close to the medina a 10 minute walk up the main avenue called Habib Bourguiba , you spnd a couple of hours ther and then return by train ( its called the TGM ) it takes a 35 minutes , if you still have the time u can go by the same train to SIDIBOUSAID which you shouldnt miss climb uphill on foot the the ancint village and drink a green tea and look donw on the bay of tunis a magnificient site

so take the train or go easly with the excursion will be the best way to be guided and at he shops u have to discuss the prices the half at least of what they offer.ig u go by ur own continue to the bardo museum and on ur way back to la goulette go to sidi bou said and of corse u can see all on google or lonely palnet guide its perfect about tunisia
hope ull like the palces and have fun in tunisia

You have the choice ,either a taxi who will take you straight to the center where the souk and the the medina are nearby,or you can take the train called TGM(abbreviation of Goulette,Marsa,Train in French) you will cross the main avenue in the capital, medina and souk are close ,it will be an occasion to compare between the old and the new way of life.
