well, I guess taking a tourist to a local "Bal", which is some kind of ballroom dancing event where you take your own drinks and food along, could be a unique experience.
Or participating in a typical Mauritian BBQ on the beach.

Well everything is fun in Mauritius. Once you are in Mauritius you can become a Mauritian by doing activities like Mauritian does. You can go to the maeket to buy your own food and cook. You can visit Mauritius by travelling by bus like Mauritian do. You can go to the seaside and lay nder the filao tree and enjoy the sand sea and sun of Mauritius which very famous aroung the globe. However, when coming to Mauritius you can contact me, I'll pich you up at the airport and also you can enjoy your stay in Mauritius in a bungalow at Pereybere. Tourists can do anything. There are very few tourists in several wild and beautiful places of the island where you can find almost as Mauritius. Very few people explore what kind of place, because tourists generally come to the beaches. Stay with families, it is the most authentic and that very few tourist tries. The fun things that Mauritian do and that tourist rarely experience is first eating Dholl puris at Port Louis. Drinking the nice Alouda at the port Louis Market. Eating a Mine Bouille or boulettes at some of the nice small chinese snack.Second enjoying a nice Briani with cucumber salad and achard on the beach or a fresh grill fish. Rod Fishing and cook your catch on the beach and enjoy it straight away with a nice rum & cola or a fresh beer. Doing some picnic on a mountain. Enjoying a nice sugar-cane in the field during harvest time. Have a nice swim at Rochesterfalls during summer time. Enjoying some nice gauyaves de chine with some salt and chili. As well as some confits. Oh there are plenty. Stay by a mauritian family then you can really enjoy the mauritian life and culture.

Well some fun things that tourists rarely experience are camping with mauritian people at the beach and some festival that hindu community celebrate like divali,cavadee,walk on fire etc.. its a rare things for the tourists

Most of the tourists coming to the island stays in hotels and go out in groups on guided tours to visit the island. You can never discover the real Mauritian culture until you don't live it yourself. To have an exceptional holiday in Mauritius you will absolutely need to experience the Mauritian life style to its closest. Eating a home cooked "Masala or Rougaille" with hot “Roti” in family or eating out in a Mauritian fast food and being surrounded by Mauritian is a unique and unforgettable experience you will never live by staying in a hotel. You can also live in a bungalow not far from the sea with some Mauritian guest for a barbecue and have as much fun as you want in the Mauritian way. Above all having these experiences with me as your guide will cost you so cheap that you will surely come back to renew these experiences.

Sorry for a late answer, anyway may be it might help people having the same question... In Mauritius many tour operators proposed or organised activities which is meant only for tourists. Visiting Mauritius is quite an easy thing to do but living Mauritius is another thing ... for example participating in a "picnic" (outing) the way that Mauritian do, is unique. If you want to have fun go fishing with a local fisherman. Have you think of going in a Mauritian family to have dinner, drink local rhum and afterwards dance the sega (Mauritian local music)....
