My best bet at the moment would be to have a family to stay in with you. Right now I have accomodated a German journalist. I could get you a great family to move in with and see the country just like a local.
No qoutations on this one, you just have pay when satisfied. It is the greatest way to enjoy S.A.

If you go on the internet and type in Where to Stay or SA Venues your get a lot of B&B all over South Africa. May be you find something there. In our area we know Panhandle B&B, or Gooseberry B&B in Linden. This suburb is close to the main attractions in Johannesburg and also close to big shopping malls.
