Hi,
Below are some few good hotels in Nairobi and are safe and secure, your choice of a hotel will actually depend on your budget.

InterContinental Hotel Nairobi is a superbly equipped hotel, offering varied amenities and conveniences to make your stay a pleasurable one.

The Hilton Nairobi is ideally located in the heart of the shopping and business area of the city

The Sarova Stanley is a Superior 5-Star Deluxe Hotel in the Central Business District of Nairobi Overlooking Kenyatta Avenue This hotel is centrally located in Nairobi's shopping and central business district. It has easy access to Central Business District attractions, international organizations, financial institutions including the Nairobi Stock Exchange, government ministries, and historical landmarks. It is 18 km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

The Norfolk Hotel is an historic Tudor-style Hotel in garden setting. It is renowned for personal service and a traditional safari atmosphere.

Serena Hotel is peacefully set in landscaped gardens, the five star Nairobi Serena Hotel overlooks Central Park and is five minutes walking distance from the city center

Sarova Panfric Hotel is a good superior tourist hotel with an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool where drinks and snacks can be ordered. A popular hotel for locals and tourists to visit for its restaurant and bar. It is set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens with a panoramic view over the city. Sitting on a small hill in an upmarket residential suburb of Nairobi, half a kilometre from the city centre and 18 kms from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

680 hotel is a huge slightly thread bear Nairobi hotel located dead in the central business district. The Nairobi Kenya Hotel caters for the local and international business people. Facilities are good; it’s in a secure location. There is however little inspired about the place.

Jacaranda Nairobi is a superior, modern and a well-equipped garden hotel in the heart of the Westlands. The unique location of the hotel avoids the noise and bustles of the city and is placed at a distance of 5 kilometres from the city centre and 20 kilometres from the airport.

The Holiday Inn Hotel is perfectly located for both business and leisure guests to Nairobi.
Being one of the good quality hotels in Nairobi, guests staying at this hotel will find its convenient location and tranquil atmosphere pleasurable.

Hotel Kipepeo is a brand new hotel equivalent to 3 star hotel conveniently located in the heart of Nairobi behind the Fire Station and opposite the Kenya Commercial Bank. Hotel Kipepeo provides luxurious, calm and relaxing accommodation for both business and leisure travelers.

A good midrange hotel (indication: US $ 60-90 bed & breakfast per night) is Silver Springs, walking distance from downtown (Central Business District).
A bit further away from the centre, but very central in a safe neighbourhood is Gracia Hotels (in Hurlingham/Lavington next to Yaya shopping centre), slighty cheaper than Silver Springs (around 50 US $).
Both hotels serve excellent food as well.
Feel free to contact me for contact details, exact prices and/or booking assitance (as it is much easier to arrange that locally than from a distance).
Enjoy Nairobi! Karibu Kenya (Welcome in Kenya)

you really need to indicate what kind of a budget you're planning on. There are plenty of high-range, very nice hotels downtown and farther away. There are also plenty of mid-range and low-budget hotels, hostels, dorms and campsites scattered around the city. If you're looking for something cheap and away from the mad traffic of town, stay at Nairobi Campsite on Magadi road. It has single, and double rooms with bathrooms, or it has a dormitory with a shared shower and toilet area. Or you can sleep in a tent. It's comfortable, clean, safe, and cheap. They have a bar there, with plenty of drinks, snacks and other items available.

For more detailed info on the hotels, take a look at the bottom of my profile. I have two lists: one for cheap places and one for higher end places.

Kenya Comfort Nairobi Kenya Hotel

The Nairobi’s Kenya comfort hotel is an excellent addition to an otherwise restricted Nairobi accommodation scene. The Kenya comfort hotel is located on Muindi Mbingu Street and is painted a striking light blue hue.

This Nairobi Kenya Hotel is kept in top shape and has a wide selection of modern tiled rooms and a lift for easy access. There is a popular 24hr bar-restaurant called Sokoni.

Breakfast is at Usd 5. The Nairobi hotel also offers conference facilities in its top fifth floor. The price range for this Nairobi hotel is US$26-36 for single, USD 32-42 for a double and US$42-45 for a triple room accommodation.

Middle level Nairobi Kenya hotels. Mid level of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and midrange hotels in Nairobi

Park side Nairobi Kenya Hotel

The Nairobi Kenya hotel is located right outside the lavish Jevanjee gardens. The Nairobi Kenya mid range hotel is modest but decent but decent enough value. The location of the hotel has managed to keep out the pervading and annoying Nairobi traffic and town noise.

Breakfast in the rather nicely quiet and organised downstairs restaurant will make a damage of Kshs 300 to your wallet. The price range of the park side Nairobi hotel is Kshs 1300/1700/ 2200 for s/d/ tr room accommodation.

Cheap Nairobi Kenya hotels. Price range and standards of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and best hotels in Nairobi

Ambassadeur Nairobi Kenya Hotel

Believe it or not this hotel once belonged to the Sarova chain of hotels. The grand structure has not changed although not the same can be said of the interior finesse. In a central location but dead on the Street Boundary between budget and top range hotels.

Breakfast here costs Usd 10 meant for the triples and quadruples as opposed to singles. Price ranges here are from usd35/45/65 for s/d/tr room accommodation.

Location of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Prices and standards of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and middle hotels in Nairobi

Nairobi Kenya Hotel Greton

This is a big block of hotel in the heart of the budget district. It has a balcony restaurant overlooking the street. Hotel Rooms here are spacious and comfortable.

The Nairobi Kenya hotel boasts a saloon and gym. The overall effect is that you will tend to Greton due to the extras since the rest of the budgets do not have such.

Their price ranges from Kshs 950/1200/1700 for s/d/tr room accommodation.

Low priced Nairobi Kenya hotels. Ambience and standards of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and middle hotels in Nairobi

Grand Holiday Nairobi Kenya Hotel

The Nairobi hotel is located on Tsavo road. White faces seem to be a novelty here telling from the whisperings of the staff. It’s a favoured place by Kenyan business men. They have large hotel rooms fitted with TVs, huge beds and spacious red-hued bathrooms. The price range here is at Kshs 1050/2000/2200 for d/tr/ste room accommodation.

Cheap Medium Nairobi Kenya hotels. Facilities and standards of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and middle hotels in Nairobi

Oakwood Nairobi Kenya Hotel

It’s hard to find a justification for these prices but my guess is its central location and possibly chain ownership. The Oakwood hotel however does offer a bit of character with a lot of wood fittings and a lift so old-school it could possibly draw a pension.

The same chain runs other hotels in Kenya and Uganda and also operates balloon safaris in the Masai Mara. Prices here are Usd 60/75/85 for s/d/tr hotel room accommodation.

Reasonable, Medium Nairobi Kenya hotels. Services and structures of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and within your means hotels in Nairobi

Oriental Palace Nairobi Kenya Hotel

Unlikely what Kubla Khan had in mind, this hotels foyer does at least try to live up to the name. They have put faux ivory structures and a lot of Indian touches. The rooms are more of the Western brown retro feel.

The Oak wood Nairobi Kenya hotel is however comfortable enough if you were to ignore the slight air of neglect at the corridors. The prices are Kshs 2790/3260 for s/d room accommodation.

Nice Nairobi Kenya hotels. Food and rooms of Nairobi Kenya hotels. Good and affordable hotels in Nairobi

Six eighty Nairobi Kenya Hotel

This is a huge slightly thread bear Nairobi hotel located dead in the central business district. The Nairobi Kenya Hotel caters for the local and international business people. Facilities are good; it’s in a secure location. There is however little inspired about the place.

Logically it has Wi-fi internet connectivity. The price ranges from Kshs 4000/5600/7200 for the s/d/tr room accommodation.

I think the best way out to help you is first to know what kind of hotel you are looking for? Second what is your Budget per night on bed and breakfast. Third do you want a hotel in town center or out of town center.

There are more than a dozen of good hotels in Nairobi which are good and safe but listing them for you want have helped you but the above questions will help to sort you out which would be the best of all.

Nairobi has very many hotels from 5 star hotels to 1 star hotels..
The size of your pocket is what matters..
My advice would be for you to get a hotel in the outskirts of the city if you want peace & quiet..
Hotels at the CBD are also good if you want convinience owing to the vicinity to Malls,Forex Bureaus,Casinos,Banks,etc...
Enjoy your stay...

I recommend the Parkside Hotel, on Monrovia Street. If you are after clean and comfortable accommodation without any of the extra frills, this hotel fits the bill. Standard rooms come with a bed and ensuite, or you can upgrade to a premium room that comes with a TV. It's not the most classy accommodation ever, there is no kitchenette or meals included, but it is cheap, in a good location, and there is 24 hour security and reception.
