September Higher Temp. Average in Amsterdam: 19°C/66°F
September Lower Temp. Average in Amsterdam: 9.4°C/49°F

It can be changeable and unpredictable. You might be lucky and get a warm few days or it could be decidedly autumnal.

September isn't the wettest month - but would bring wet wetaher gear anyway...

In the Netherlands you never know! One moment it rains, the other sunny skies. But it's always a good time to come to the Netherlands.

Anytime between May and September is the best time to visit Amsterdam in terms of the weather. One advantage of coming in September is that most visitors come in July or August, so by September the crowds have diminished a little and you don't have to queue so long to see all the attractions such as the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum.

It's true that it often rains here - however the rain is usually not heavy. The days are still quite long in September - it should be light until around 9PM.

You can be lucky in September and even still sit outside on a terrace... If it's raining, there's still plenty to do, and the showers don't ever last very long.
